Good start |
Yes, I like this move.
I doubt Gonzalez is back with the Dodgers either, something weird happened and I think he got offended to be off the playoff roster. Not showing for Game 1 of the World Series was not a good optic. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

Good and bad news:
Honeycutt is back.
Seager has elbow problems. They're hopeful he won't need surgery.
I would think this means more Culberson at short. Or, maybe they might switch Forsythe and Seager's positions so that Corey won't have to do those tougher throws from short. |

Or try CT3 at short while Toles, Joc and Puig man the outfield if Corey has to miss a few weeks. |

Heyward beat out Puig for the Gold Glove for RF in the NL.
Why am I not surprised? |

Quote: | Kenley Jansen Is The Model Of A Modern Reliever
After a year of searching, we didn’t our find our new Goose Gossage. But we did get a glimpse of what one might look like in baseball’s just-concluded postseason.
This spring, we introduced a new pitching statistic called the goose egg — named in honor of Gossage, the Hall-of-Fame reliever, who had a record 82 goose eggs in 1975. Essentially, a pitcher gets a goose egg for every clutch, scoreless relief inning (see the original article for a more formal definition). Goose eggs have a substantially better correlation with relievers’ win probability added than saves do, especially if paired with their companion statistic, the broken egg.
This year’s major leader in goose eggs was the Milwaukee Brewers’ Corey Knebel, who finished with 47 of them. The American League leader was the Seattle Mariners’ Edwin Diaz, who had 40. You can find a complete rundown of this year’s final goose stats in the table below. (A “broken egg” is essentially the blown save of goose stats, and a “meh” is any situation which doesn’t result in either a goose egg or a broken egg.)
However, from an efficiency standpoint, the best season came not from Knebel or Diaz but from the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Kenley Jansen, who finished with a perfect record of 44 goose eggs and no broken eggs. That’s the most-ever goose eggs without a broken egg. The Dodgers used Jansen smartly and lined up his 68.1 innings pitched to coincide with mostly high-leverage situations. He made 15 multi-inning appearances, entered with runners on base 12 times, and often pitched in tied games — all things that closers weren’t doing much of a few years ago. And Jansen generated 6.3 goose wins above replacement (GWAR) in the regular season, the 7th-highest total of all-time.

Good. Now I can put back my torch and pitchfork. |
You better have them at the ready position if they don't shore up their holes. ChickenStu's proposed trade this past season for McCutcheon/Rivero still fits in the Dodger plans. |

I'd love for them to get Otani, but they're gonna have stiff competition and less financial resources allowed to get him. |

It's good to see they've been getting treatment for their ex-A's/Ray's/AL&NLEast masturbation addiction. Would hate to see them relapse. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

Yes. Been thinking about that for awhile. Both players essentially get to go back home. Stanton/LA and Puig Cuba/Miami. I know he is from Cuba but Miami has a big cuban community and I believe he already has a home in Miami. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Wasn't close either. He and Kershaw split first place votes 27/3.
Must have been all the time Kershaw missed, because he was objectively the better pitcher. I thought the time Max missed might have evened the voting.
Clayton has been boned out of so many CY awards. He's been the best pitcher the last six years but only has 3 CY to show for it. |

Yep. I hoped a WS win would've added to his resume but Darvish shat the bed twice. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

Objectively sure. But I'd like to hang onto Puig for a while. I think Turner Ward has done wonders with him both at the plate and his person. If we could put out a Stanton-Puig-Taylor outfield, that would be ideal. Marlins need any pitching help desperately. That'd probably be the only way in.
That said:

Agree. I don't want to give up on Puig. He has such an amazing year and was so much fun to watch. Plus defensively he is amazing out there. He's still young and doesn't cost that much...yet.
Hopefully if we're after Stanton, we could nab him for prospects and Joc possibly? I mean, he is still very young, good in the field and has the power and tools to become a star. Unfortunately, he could be the odd man out with us.
An outfield of Puig, Stanton and Taylor would be off the charts. |

I always felt Puig's ceiling was basically where Stanton is at. He's getting there (finally). Would hate to lose Joc as well. Taylor had a good year but we'll need to see if the mechanics the two Turner's helped him with will stick. Joc as our 4th outfielder or someone who can start if Taylor has to sub in the infield is an incredible luxury. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif
