We usually don’t like to talk about high school underclassmen on CBT, but Manute Bol’s son, Bol Bol is an exception. Already standing 6-foot-10 with a high skill level, the younger Bol had a mixtape released from Ball is Life this week and based on his size, skill level and blood lines, he could be in-line to be a big-time college basketball prospect.
The 7-foot-7 Manute played in the NBA for nearly a decade and passed away in 2010 and his son lives in Kansas and attends Overland Park North High School.
I had a chance to see Bol Bol play at the Pangos Frosh/Soph Midwest Camp outside of Chicago last fall and he was 6-foot-6 with very good hand-eye coordination and timing for a player his age and size. Even though Bol was one of the younger players in attendance, he made the camp’s top 40 all-star game and looked like a player to track. Now that he’s 6-foot-10, it’s even more apparent and the next step for Bol will be to add strength.
And let’s hope that some uninformed writer doesn’t start labeling Bol as some future NBA superstar clone without Bol ever playing a high school basketball game. |

RIP, Manute.
There was an SNL commercial for a cruise line where Manute's presence was advertised as the bonus attraction. A couple were laying on deck chairs and they look over and Manute is looking at them and he toasts his glass of OJ to them with a big smile on his face. The couple look back at each other with a weirded out look. The guy wakes up and he sees Manute looking in at them through their porthole. Stuff like that. Manute was the man. Natural character. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

@ 52 seconds, an ill-advised 3 was taken.
His father's son indeed. Oh man, Chick would have so much fun calling his games. |

It really does look like he has some special skill there. I'm pretty impressed. if he can move like that with his still-growing spider limbs, he's going to be great once he matures into his body. nice! let's sign him! |

Amazing how much he looks like his dad. While it's entertaining to watch him handle the ball and shoot jumpers, I wish someone would teach him how to play with his back to the basket. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Quote: | Five-Star Center Bol Bol, Son of Manute, Commits to Oregon
Oregon couldn’t reel in the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2018, R.J. Barrett, but it will sign the class’s top big man. Bol Bol announced on Monday that he will play for the Ducks in an article on The Players’ Tribune. The son of former NBA player Manute Bol picked Oregon over Kentucky after reportedly visiting both programs this fall.
Bol recently transferred to national powerhouse Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev., after previous stints at Mater Dei (Calif.) High and Bishop Miege (Kans.) High. He spent part of this year playing with Shaquille O’Neal’s son, four-star power forward Shareef, in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League with California Supreme.
Bol stands 7' 2", 220 pounds and was measured this year with a 7' 8" wingspan, but he has some perimeter skills. Over 19 games with club team California Supreme in 2017, he averaged 22 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per game while connecting on 44.1% of his 59 three-point attempts.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Bol Bol, five-star son of Manute, eyes potential to exceed on-court legacy of famous father
The Recruiting Services Consensus Index, a composite that incorporates data from multiple services, pegs Bol as the No. 4 prospect in the class of 2018, behind Barrett, Spartanburg (S.C.) Day School small forward Zion Williamson and Westtown (Pa.) School small forward Cameron Reddish.
Oregon was one of three finalists for Barrett, who chose Duke on Nov. 10. But the Ducks had already nabbed a five-star small forward recruit in Hudson Catholic (N.J.) product Louis King, in addition to four-star power forward Miles Norris and four-star shooting guard Will Richardson. The addition of Bol gives Oregon one of the nation’s top classes.
Off to a 4–0 start this month, Oregon is not expected to make another deep postseason run in 2017–18 after reaching the Final Four last season; SI projects the Ducks to finish as the fourth-best team in the Pac-12. Yet this class is composed of the caliber of talent they need to remain in the running for conference championships. |

9'7" standing reach
Hope he can pack on some muscle. He inherited the same narrow build from his dad. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |
