NPR
PBS
Those places.. I never blurred them with all the other crap..
I just really hope we don't find out
"Charlie Rose was such a big star we hid the allegations"
PBS wouldn't put a boot right up Charlies ass if he did any of this?
^^NO.. not defending.. I am worried that somehow people did hide this who are in management at either pbs or npr etc.. Cookie Monster sad

Where did Harvey Weinstein rank among Hollywood producers? Was he considered more influential and powerful than someone like Steven Spielberg or James Cameron? (I know they’re directors, not producers.) _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

He was a head of a studio. He could direct money to projects and thus he had a lot of power. I would say he had more power than Spielberg or Cameron.

“It feels branded into me, the details of it,” Godfrey-Ryan said.
She said she told Yvette Vega, Rose’s longtime executive producer, about the calls.
“I explained how he inappropriately spoke to me during those times,” Godfrey-Ryan said. “She would just shrug and just say, ‘That’s just Charlie being Charlie.’ ”
In a statement to The Post, Vega said she should have done more to protect the young women on the show.
“I should have stood up for them,” said Vega, 52, who has worked with Rose since the show was created in 1991. “I failed. It is crushing. I deeply regret not helping them.”
Godfrey-Ryan said that when Rose learned she had confided to a mutual friend about his conduct, he fired her.

I'm very shocked by the Lasseter accusations. He's a very hug happy guy for sure, I've been the recipient of a few unexpected hugs, but I don't consider it as anything malicious.

Is it wrong to wonder if this new environment can lead to malicious and false accusations, and if so...is that person basically screwed? How do we support the actual victims while still protecting against false accusations that will destroy lives and careers? There are plenty of crazies out there, it's bound to happen.
That's something that bothers me. A false accusation can ruin someones life.
Even if it's proven to be false the seed will have been planted. Some may find that difficult to cope with. LINK
I'm not worried about false accusations in general. That just happens, and it isn't limited to sex crimes. I'm worried about the feeding frenzy in the media right now.
That's a valid concern. But it's important to note that there's no media frenzy if the accusations aren't coming forth. There are legal protections in place to handle false accusations when it comes to the accused. Criminally it's not an issue. But civilly, I can see how a media fed campaign could be very problematic for the falsely accused.
Well, two more women accuse Al Franken of groping their backsides during photo ops during his Senate run. It's nothing (yet) like what we've seen from serial predators like Weinstein, Moore, et.al., [Deleted. Leave political talk to the political thread - LS]
Garrison Keillor has been fired over allegations of inappropriate behavior, one day after he wrote an op-ed arguing that Al Franken resigning would be "absurd."

And now Matt Lauer fired for sexual incidents.
Considering the way he treated Ann Curry, I'm more surprised it took so long.
How did he treat her? Do you guys think the rumors that he was sleeping with Natalie Morales were true?
I've never understood why he was paid so much. Not charismatic, not a real journalist, doesn't ask intelligent questions. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Yet millions watched him. Rating$
As for Curry, he apparently orchestrated her firing. There were several reports of behind the scenes harassment, like her EP cutting together a reel of all her bloopers, and then showing it to the crew as they all laughed and mocked her while she was present. He was allegedly behind all of it.

I wonder who he pissed off to get this to tumble out.
I don't think anyone is that shocked.
That being said I find the faux outrage by NBC over this to be just that.
They knew and looked the other way and now it suddenly matters.
Yeah whatever.
NBC would have swept it under the rug but another news agency was ready to publish a story detailing his bad behavior.
It's just like with Brian Williams and all his fake news stories. NBC knew about it but only took action when other news agencies started started reporting on it.
The sad thing is Williams still had a lot of fans and supporters after he was exposed and I suspect Lauer still does too.
Variety published an article with more details about his behavior.

Well, now we know why Lauer went so easy on Trump in that interview last year. Fellow predators stick together. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Doubt that's the reason more likely he's a lightweight above all else.
Lots of people went easy on Trump to begin with that's how he got this far. He should've been weeded out before he won his primary.
