I tend to agree that Caruso has outplayed Ennis on both sides of the floor. It seems Luke agrees given how quickly he took Ennis out, subbing in Caruso, after putting Ennis back in the game. Ennis is too ball dominant and he also isn't the defender Caruso is. I don't think its a close call as to who should play personally.

Don't think it's a close call, either. Ennis really had one game where he had a good stretch of chemistry with Zubac, but we mixed things up since then and he's disappeared.

He's never played with the pace that Caruso does. And tonight Caruso knocked down the three ball as a spot up shooter. He's been the one making the consistent positive impact.

Agree 100%. I wonder if the team can just give him a standard contract to get him out of the two way. He's the team's second best pure PG.

They can convert it any time, provided they have a roster spot open on the 15 man roster. But more likely is they just wait until if and when they cross the threshold of going over the max days.

Yeah, I sort of figured the same. I suppose that opens up his two way spot for another player.

It only opens up another spot if they are going to waive Ennis. Besides Caruso, is there a better PG prospect than Ennis available right now?

There isn't.
But the hope is that Caruso will get the backup minutes and Ennis isn't an impediment to that.

Your stuff is great, keep them coming.
Interesting hearing the "Shop Talk" between two guys who know basketball. I came away more impressed with both of you.

GT, do all point guards think of the game scientifically as Caruso described it in your interview? I have always wondered if PGs generally rely on instinct or on a progression like you asked him.

I'm a big fan of The Pope. He's young in the league, of course, so he'll make mistakes. But I see so much more on the positive side with him than in Ennis. One of the biggest positives, IMHO, is that he's more "Lonzo like." It will be more seamless when he subs in for Lonzo. He's longer than Ennis, he's faster, he's quicker, and he can shoot some. Please keep him.

If Caruso is called up, do we have to make another player inactive ? I'm assuming we can't have a 16 man roster.

This Pope stuff has got to stop.

His name is "The Legend." Short for "The Legend of Alexander Caruso."

I never got where the Pope name came from in the first place. Since there is a Pope on the team already and it really makes no sense anyway, I agree, it should be changed

Yes, it should definitely be "The Great Caruso," as Mychal Thompson called him. Love that.

Did GT in his interview inform him that he's been christened with this great moniker (The Pope)? I want it to catch on .

I like Caruso. I sat 10th row at the game last Tuesday and he was solid, barking at people, directing traffic. Has more moxy than I thought and looked like he could be a leader one day. I think he's earned the backup spot.

I wish I could interview Caruso. I'd like to know more about him being an underdog, fighting for his NBA life, who asked him to be on the Summer League roster, and what it means to him to be a Laker.

maybe this has been posted, but I learned today that the 2 way players "45 days" clock did not start until the first day of the G League season....so those first 2 games that Caruso played do not count against his 45 day limit.

Ennis rarely plays.
Rather Alex get minutes in the G.
Or bring him up if JC is traded.
