Simmons will win easily if he stays healthy. The only drama is who finishes second between Tatum and Kuzma.

Tatum is going to be a scoring machine in this league. Only 19 and already shooting 50%, and giving them about 14 a game. He is polished and his competency is softening the blow of losing Hayward. Jaylen Brown looks good too. Ainge still has more picks coming in. That Markelle trade was money for the Celtics. The silver lining in all of this, as a Laker fan, is that they can't pay them all. LOL!

Which begs the question, Brook Lopez is gonna be a UFA at seasons' end. Do the Lakers view him as part of their future? Cuz he's likely their best player, is making $22M this season and I'm pretty sure he'll get a max (or near max) contract offer from someone. And if that's the case then it'll be one free agent added among George, Boogie Cousins and LeBron, who I'm guessing will opt out.

Why can’t they pay them all?

I'm going to invent an award for Kuzma to win, "Rookie of the Year from the 2017 Draft".

Apparently you missed all the talk around here from the summertime, Eric wrote an article with the theory that Lopez would take the MLE. Certain posters took that and ran with it for several weeks. I prefer my fantasies to have some basis in reality.

Even in a game where he goes 7-22 with 6 turnovers, Simmons still manages 3 steals, 3 blocks, 6 assists, and 13 rebounds. IF that's a bad game for him... jeez

I have placed Jackson at the bottom of my rookie performance list all season, and always behind Ball....that being said, there is a huge minutes disparity between the two.

Per 36

Ball - 10 PPG / 7 RPG / 8 APG

Jackson - 17 PPG / 6 RPG / 1 APG

Shooting %'s

Ball - 31% FG% / 25% 3FG% / 38% TS%
Jackson - 40% FG% / 28% 3FG% / 46% TS%

GT has been posting BPM updates for rookies in the general forum since at least 2015.

I was soooooooo wrong about Mitchell in the draft process

Better question is Kuzma vs Markannen. Two of the smoothest offensive players in the NBA...period. And theyre just rookies.
Kuzma has every single move in the book, will be hitting fadeaways over people Kobe style soon, heck even his footwork will be ridiculous, already is but Markannen..that guy can flat out shoot. One of the best looking J's in the league. That thing is a thing of beauty. Kuzma is a good shooter but a better all around scorer. Markannen is a great shooter and a good all around scorer.
This is a really tough one. I will take Kuzma cuz...just because

6'10 with PG-level handles, elite passing, and very good athleticism. He doesn't need a shot to be effective tbh.

Cockback is used for strength.. his hitch is basically oddly placed cockback. Deeper line, more cockback

Markannen with 26/13 last night. Its between him and Kuzma for the 2nd best rookie.
Kuzma is at 16/7, Markannen is at 15/8.
At first glance Markannen seems to have more potential, he is bigger, has a better jumpshot but Kuzma has a SG's game at the PF position. Somewhat rare. Sure PF's shoot these days but not too mamy play like SG's.

Markannen. He is already the best scorer and if those scrubs would find him more often with ball, his stats would be even better. If he would be a Laker instead of Kuzma, he could average 20ppg now. One of the most ellegant shooters.
