Fultz is looking like a complete bust so not sure what the hype was about.

Markelle, and after seeing Ball to start what was somewhat of a close call pre-draft is now a pretty easy decision for me. We wouldn't be messing around with his shot or doing whatever Philly's medical staff is doing with its players. No idea what's going on with all that Fultz weirdness but it's a trend with Philly.

I'm not low on Lonzo, but I'm just a bit lower on him than I was. I ignored a large amount of his game pre-draft.

the injury is concerning. There's actually nothing wrong/injured structurally with fultz but sounds like he has muscle weakness on his shooting arm (?pain maybe?)

I know he's a bit older but I could see a timeline where Donovan Mitchell is better than both.

He's a complete bust because he has a shoulder injury and has only played four games?

I guess Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons are complete busts too since they missed their rookie seasons with injuries

His shooting mechanics are awful. Unless they're a result of the injury and will go back to normal after he's healed.

I would still draft Ball, but the jury is still out on Fultz. No way to know what he will be like after the injury.

From all reports, his odd mechanics (which were reportedly related to his injury) were completely different than how he shot in college. So you're answering why it is way too soon to begin judging the guy. My sense is we are months away from even hazing an hazy idea how he'll be.

I would have done like the Celtics and draft Tatum.

You need atleast a couple months of healthy play to evaluate both players

I am definitely seeing a stronger argument for Tatum now, than I did before the draft. Sam Vecenie kept saying the Lakers should take Tatum and pair him with Ingram...and he might have been right.

Before the draft, I had:

1. Fultz
2. Jackson
3. Tatum

Until I see Fultz when he returns, I would stick with him @ #1. The talent and ceiling were just too high.....but I would have to move Tatum ahead of Jackson as of right now.

Wouldn't Tatum be redundant since we already have both Ingram and Kuzma? Is Tatum better than either/both?

do not think most focus on fit at the top of the draft...but right now Tatum is playing better than both Ingram and Kuzma.

So actually that trade was potentially a massive steal for the Celtics. They get a superior player in Tatum plus another lottery pick (ours) in the next draft.

Picking Tatum would mean wasting a huge draft steal in Kuzma. I'd still go with Ball. Fultz is TBD, but I preferred Lonzo's style of play in the first place.

TBD...have to wait and see how Fultz turns out.

Tatum is shooting 49, 47.6 and 84 after 21 games. Unbelievable efficiency. If he could develop into a decent facilitator, sky is the limit. I doubt Ingram gets close to Tatum as a shooter even if averages settle down.

Yes, better than both. He and Ingram would be impressive in a few years. When both are Kuzma’s age they will be fantastic players.

This. Besides, we never had an opportunity to draft Fultz even if that was our preference.

Picking talented players that translate well to the NBA is never a waste. Worst case scenario you have a strong trade chip in either Tatum or Ingram.
