Hope his 3 translates to the NBA.
Love his energy. But will take time to learn the NBA game.
Even zubac looks good in the G.
Then looks bleh in the NBA.

He didn't look bleh at all up until he got hurt he looked very solid and ahead of the curve for his age.

Then he looked bad in Summer League where a bunch of other stuff was going on in his life and people gave up on him.

Then he dedicated the off-season after his summer league performance to not go on his vacation and instead dedicate the rest of the summer to the NBA season instead.

Came into training camp and has killed it on the post up drills against the other guys on the team.

Won't get any playing time because Luke gonna Luke and play a Bogut whose back was terribly injured even prior to the game before he gives minutes to Zubac.

Why not starting center in a couple of years?
I'm really liking the FO's draft picks this year.

Except for Lonzo.

Thomas Bryant is making great progress. He has been very impressive in the G-League. In a few years he may be NBA starting material.

TB had an all-around good game last night. TB scored 26 points on 9-of-16 from the field, a game-high six of nine three-pointers with 9 rebounds (+17).

He needs to work on his footwork and lateral quickness but his shot is solid inside and out. He is smart, his defense is improving and his enthusiasm is infectious.
IMO he is another great late round draft pick by the Lakers.

No i like Lonzo.

His shoot is junk.

But his D, passing, rebounds, assists have been good.

Hoping Bryant can replace Randle as the big off the bench next year.

His 3's are super impressive though!

Recalled from the G-League today. We may see his NBA debut tomorrow night if the Dubs are blowing us out late in the game (likely). Hopefully the kid shows enough to slowly knock Bogut out of the rotation. We need shooting bad, wherever we can get it from...

I would like to see him play. I see him as a randle with a 3. Perhaps slightly less athletic but definitely not far off.

No doubt that the talent is there but Thomas is not quick enough to play the 4. He is a true modern day center with the outside shot to prove it.
He also is a decent defender but he is inexperienced and has a long way to go.

Randle with a 3?
Atheticism not far off?
Bryant can only dunk because of a 7ft6 wingspan.

Randle is an explosive leaper and is catquick. TB is slow....especially lateral.

TB will be good, but is nowhere near Randle at the moment

Excuse me did you say six 3s?
Lakers need to send this guy to Germany for his hips, invest all resources in the organization to fix his hips/lateral mobility. Guy would be a top 10 Center if he could move laterally! Cmon!!

Great post. He is a perfect player to help out with spacing as his outside shot is legit. I love the fire in his play. His LONG arms more than make up for a lack of quickness and athletic ability.

Na his long arms don't make up for his lack of lateral mobility. If they did, he would have been picked 30spots earlier........

Could be a real sleeper IMO re: the center spot down the road. Maybe not a starter type but certainly a backup.

Him draining 3's is impressive. The one in transition he pulled up at the top of the key

Looks like a natural.

Randle with little lateral quickness

Very very very very exciting prospect eventually. But just a reminder of what his lateral mobility was/is.
look at how difficult it is for his legs to change direction, he like, has to jump/hop to switch directions..... Also, Jayson Tatum is no speed demon, not even SG quickness.

Gonna be tough.

has Lopez/Jules/Bogut ahead of him though. Maybe even Zub.

Meaningless. Bryant plays a different position (C vs SF) and is 40 plus lbs. heavier than Tatum.
