How much worse could he be than Nance and Lopez?

This oughta be interesting...

I don't think he's the Magic piece to the puzzle or anything but it seems pointless to completely shelve him. Lopez and Pope aren't part of the future either but they're playing.

And Lopez and Pope DON’T have to be traded this offseason.

The team needs a fresh, new look out there, and they have a guy whose trade value could use a Red Bull.

Why not, right?

(enter “Deng sucks” comments)

But how do we know he sucks? Really.

The PF/C rotation is already too crowded, and Deng isn't suited for SF any more at this stage of his career. Can't see any benefit of playing him at this point.

Out of sight, out of mind. All we do is talk about moving his contract. For a moment, I forgot he's actually a real person. I swear I don't recall him on the bench at all. Is he on the bench in home games? Does he travel with the team? I have tivo!!! Gonna go back and rewind some games later. LOL!

If anything his trade value can't get any lower. He can have Brewer's minutes assuming Brewer has to play (which it seems like he does in Luke's mind).

Wow, we are really grasping at straws.

Re-sign Ryan Kelly?

v
I’d like to see Ryan Kelly or Yi Jianlian on this team, actually.

And while you’re going down memory lane, man-o-man would Brian Cook look good on this squad as well.

The OP is right on several accounts:

1) If you play him - it will only help his trade value

2) Play him on road games, we lose all of those anyway, so what would it hurt?

To me we never gave him enough time (consistent time) on the court and perhaps didn't use him to his strengths, which is more of a post up 4 with an outside shot.

This reminds me too much of Pau Gasol's last couple years here, where people were constantly saying he was done......until he went to San Antonio and started contributing again.

We already have issues finding time for Randle, Kuz, and Nance. I can’t imagine putting Luold in the mix.

If they're wretched now, imagine Dung crapping all over the court..thoroughly unwatchable

I know I’m completely alone on this, but I’d start him at Center against most teams in the league.

On nights with a difficult offensive matchup, I’d revert back to Lopez.

I agree with you. If Deng were on San Antonio or Houston or the Wolves, everyone would see that he ain’t quite done.

I want him starting because he’s a better shooter than Lopez and gives the team more speed and defensive versatility. If he plays well, you also make it that much easier to trade him this summer.

Joe Pesci is kinda weak. Not the OP, but the actually actor. What is he, like 5 foot nothing? And we're supposed to believe he's some goon because some director who enjoys glorifying and embellishing Italian mob movies deemed him as a scary, menacing personality? Why not Danny Devito? Plus Pesci got the crap kicked out of him several Christmases straight by a little blonde kid who's parents were stupid enough to leave him home alone on more than one occasion.

Sorry, rough night for Laker fans.
