Julius has proven to be a true warrior. He should get more playing time at small ball center and we should pick up the pace.
His perimeter defense is light years ahead of last year and much better than Lopez defensively on the perimeter too.
I hope the FO finds a way to keep him on the team long term. |

They should start
Lonzo
KCP
Ingram
Kuzma
Randle
Why not start your best lineup? The current system clearly is not working. |

I have to admit, I wasn't crazy about Julius' attitude to start the season, but he has proven himself over and over again, and he needs to either start over Lopez or Lopez needs to get the hook after 5 minutes max in the first, so Julius can take most of the minutes. I'm getting tired of seeing him come in after we're down by 10+ points. |

Hope Randle doesn’t get turned off by this ‘step child’ treatment when it comes to minutes. I’m not sure why he got the shortest leash, he’s been playing under control |

I don't understand Luke. D'Angelo was last year's whipping boy and now it's Julius. He should be starting by now. |

Really interested to see what the team does and what Julius does with FA. |
I think the Lakers will retain him. Its just a loop hole for LA to not lock up any guarenteed money ahead of next summer.
They will try to land PG or other big name players first, and then extend JR cause he’s still on his rookie deal in 2018/2019.
Unless theres a sign n trade to get the marquee player or some package on the table for JR, then its adios. |

The only explanation is a top-down order to audition Brook for potential trades. But it's coming at the expense of winning games. |

Do you guys really think Julius can start at C?
I mean, he's clearly too much to handle for backup bigs but Im not sure he can guard starting C's and still be a major factor on O for the duration of starter type mins. |

and that is going to be a huge mistake when we're trying to get our 2 max free agents. Once again we are on pace to win less than 30 games. Why the (bleep) would any max FA sign with a 28 win team?
Luke needs to go. Randle and Kuzma are our best players along with Ingram. All three should be starting. It's absolutely ridiculous the way Luke is handling Julius this season. |

I don’t understand. There are enough stats that show the team gets better with him on the floor, enough videos that show the team gets better with hm on the floor, a player outright saying the team gets better with him on the floor, yet his minutes are so low. He does a better version of a player, a player that becomes more valuable to the team’s progression get significantly less minutes? |

I do if Brook keeps playing like he is. I think you still start Brook against the Sixers and the Pelicans. But against most other teams Randle I think gives us better production. Especially since Brook's 3 is not falling.
Biggest shocker of the season so far for me has been Randle's improvement on the defensive end. Wow, I love it! _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Is it reasonable to give the benefit of the doubt to Walton here and assume that management has asked Walton to drive Randle’s minutes down in an effort to drive down his summer asking price? |

Nope because he will be paid by someone. It may not be the max, but it'll be more than what the Lakers would want to pay him.
Is Randle's caphold 12m just for one season, or through the life of his new contract if we do resign him? Because then what do we care how much someone offers him if 12m counted against the cap every season. |

Jules is best at C and we got an Allstar C in the offseason so Jules lost his starting job.
Honestly what ever Luke has been doing he needs to keep it up. I never thought I would see Jules play D like he does now. Something must be working. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

In light of his game changing.. It's time for the coaching staff to also make adjustments. Whatever it was that worked has turned him into a starting center for this team. |

Right. Especially if their plan is to get two maxes and keep Randle. They'd need him to be willing to stay with his $12M cap hold instead of signing the soonest available cap sheet.
But if I'm Julius at this point, there's 0% I trust the Lakers to act in my best interest. I sign the best offer I can get, and if I'm not on the Lakers, so be it. Which is really too bad. I'm infatuated with the idea of a defensive lineup of
Ball/ George/ Ingram/ James/ Randle, even if offensively they'll have some problems unless Ingram and especially Ball shoot better. |

I'm with you now- Lopez is regressing and should only start when we play the sixers and the Pels.
I just hope that Randle keeps his defensive edge if he gets a starting role back. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

His cap hold is a temporary financial number while he is in between his expiring contract and his new contract.
Once he is signed to a new contract, his salary for each season would be the number applied to team salary. Once his next contract expires (without an extension), he would be shifted back into cap hold status again. |
