Don’t think they’d welcome a trade. Think they’d welcome the trade of our coach more.

no tangible evidence, but my gut leads me to believe they know that Luke is mostly trying to please his bosses.

Dude this two max player thing better work. JC is arguably our best player. If we get boogie and George though then it would be cool 😀

Boogie
Kuz
BI
George
Lonzo (hopefully he finds his shot by next year)

If we don’t get them though. Oh boy!

If it's LeBron then they both have to go. Hell I'll trade them both because after Cousins and George we can use the rest of the money to sign a better piece that fits better.

Not intimately familiar with our cap situation, but didn’t Maginka say the DLo trade allows us to bring in 2 superstars?

Why would they say that if it doesn’t?

Nope. Correct me if I’m wrong though.

How much space would they be short of in acquiring James, George, and Randle?

if you simply stretch Deng ($7.2 Million cap hit), then they would both need to go to sign LBJ and another max....it would require the max players to take a discount, or signing Randle to less than his cap hold first...and that is on top of moving Clarkson for nothing in return, and renouncing/releasing every player that is not under guaranteed contract.

Obviously, if Deng can be moved or bought out for less, that helps.

If you move Clarkson for nothing in return. Do not pick up options on Bryant, Zubac and Ennis, simply stretch Deng, renounce the cap holds associated with Lopez and KCP to allow them to walk.....then sign PG-13 to a max, and keep Randles cap hold.....I think your about $3-$4 Million short of offering James a max contract.

I would assume Deng would eat a few million to get bought out and released....but even if he ate $6 Million....only saves about $1.2 Million a year.

65 mill (George and James)
20 mill (Ingram, Ball, Kuzma, Nance, Hart, Bryant, Caruso)
13 mill (Randle caphold)
roughly 100 mill in payroll with a 5 mill room exception to boot.

Awesome! Another rumor to to undermine the confidence and chemistry of a young team. Can only hope this speculation is BS and the FO is re-assuring the players behind the scenes.

Unfortunately it is more likely that Magic will son have an interview hyping the 2 max plan next year to distract the fans and media from this season.

So trading JC opens up more time for who? Ball? Ennis? Ingram at PG again?

fwiw, I assume guys like Bryant and Caruso can simply be waived and resigned to minimum exception deals if no other team offered them more.

Yeah, you obviously have a mental wall erected in your mind’s eye.

When you want to get rid of a player, you CAN trade him to accomplish said end.

maybe, but I do not agree....GM's knowing your moving him to sign 2 max players are not going to eat that salary for what them would be expected to be late (20-30) 2019 1st and a late (20-30) 2021 1st. Then on top of that, it would have to be a team that has enough unwanted expiring salary. I do not think that situation currently exists. If they truly want to move Deng, I expect they will have to part with Ball, Kuzma or Ingram. Those late 1st are not very valuable.
