they can beat the Blazers, that's not exactly a scary team by any stretch.

Decided to keep this thread alive as a 5 game preview. We are now 2-2 in this 5 game stretch.

After Blazers will put up a new "next 5." I think we can beat the Blazers.

5th in Offense and 7th in Defense is kinda scary in my opinion.

@portland is always tough for the lakers. Just compete and see what happens. Just don’t get blown out, that’s a step back imo.

I think on their night this squad can match up with pretty much anybody, definitely the Blazers. If we come out of this 5 gamer at 3-2 then I'm more than happy and that's a good early sign for this team. Hell 2-3 ain't bad considering the opposition, that's 4 decent playoff teams we've played against in that 5.

All this is considering some players haven't played brilliantly. Brook hasn't set the world on fire, Lonzo has been hit and miss. I think there is much more to come from us yet.

The Blazers are no pushover as a team this year and the Lakers never ever ever prevail in Portland regardless of who's on the Blazer squad, or who's on the Laker squad for that matter. I'd love to see the Lakers win, but this is the least winnable game in the series.

Going to be a tough match up but going to be interesting to see how the Lakers respond to success.

Blazers at home are always difficult and they are a solid well rounded team, but can be beaten if the Lakers can put together another solid performance. Blazers have a game in Utah tonight so that could help a bit.

Love the way the Lakers are competing. Can they find a way to sustain it will be the question. Young teams seem to roller coaster and find ways to lose. I do like how the depth and chemistry seem to be the strengths so far. Multiple contributors in multiple ways when everything is working. Just not reliable from game to game... yet!

We keep this up and we'll definitively attract FA's like LBJ, PG and Cousins.

Wouldn't they then play with the energy, the pace and style of those FAs not the the one we are seeing and enjoying now?

I mean the only ones out would be Brook, Deng, likely JC. (I would do what it takes to keep Jules).

So:

Out: Brook, Deng, JC
In: LBJ, PG13, ring chasers.

At least Portland will be coming off a back to back and travelling back home.

Portland lost in UTAH in OT. Key is to run them off the court in the fast break. We should switch on the guards like we did with Wizards.

So maybe the suns win was pretty good. They just beat nets and wizards on back to back nights on the road.

they have looked much better since they fired Watson and sent Bledsoe home....but they were a dumpster fire during the period that we played them.

Moving JJ to the bench also seemed to help

Next 5:

76ers
Hornets
Knicks
Cavs
Warriors

Then:

Rox
Warriors
Blazers
TWolves
Grizz

Sadly I see possible wins for Hornets ands Grizz. Easily could be a 2-8 10 game span. That puts us at 10-23 if so.

Right now we are on a 28 win pace.
