Lakers enforcing so-called 'LaVar Ball rule' at Staples Center

Quote:
In what many employees at Staples Center view as the "LaVar Ball rule," this season the Los Angeles Lakers are enforcing "an existing policy" that no longer allows members of the media to congregate in a section of the arena among family and associates of players after games.

Quote:
A handful of rival front-office executives deem this matter as a necessary reinforcement to prevent LaVar Ball from having a routine postgame platform in which he's occasionally critical of the team.

Magic has been awfully quiet. Guess between he and LaVar all that pressure is starting to seep through to the team.

Shut the guy up! He knows nothing, contributes nothing
and has nothing to do other then self promote himself.

Lakers need to box him out. This guy’s worst than the
talentless Kardashian’s.

I would love for him to be low key and not such a media whore....but this is America....can't shut him up.

True but this was something many thought should have been a consideration at the time of drafting...

I know you weren't as high on him in general as most but many overlooked the LaVar angle. The pressure he must feel is hard to fathom as a positive the way LaVar seems to think it is.

It’s really simple: If Lonzo produces, it’s all fun and games from the lakers perspective. If he doesn’t, both will be someone else’s problem.

Not sure if serious?

Poster is, I'm sure, referring to the huge disparity in experience. The fact that there's a debate on whether or not your coach and his veteran NBA staff is right or the *dad* of one of your players is downright scary.

and if i am correct, Lavar was never chosen or hired as a coach....he just named himself coach.....I mean there is a difference. I could create a website and call myself a wedding planner....but that does not put my ability or expertise on par with The Plaza NYC or the Waldorf Astoria NY's professional wedding planners.

That is good, I think it makes Magic look more executivey.

Seriously, somehow ‘soft’ old Luke has gotten this team to play top 5 defense. Tough guy Byron got his team to play no defense what so ever.

When he said they were being soft, he meant they were babying Lonzo by not giving him enough minutes and authority.

The only way to shut him up is giving him no audience, no views, no clicks.

Ya'll care too much about what Lonzo's father thinks tbh. They ask him he's gonna answer. Simple as that. other parents would give their opinions too, they just aren't asked.

Wish he just stay quiet. Looks like a great dad, but could not help Lonzo now that he is in the NBA. Arenas just exposed his son's game. All the motivation and conditioning Lavar did for Lonzo in the pass won't help him now that the hitch in his shot is handicapping him in the pros. Lavar should have fixed his shot earlier, cause it looks like Lonzo have great instinct for the game. I doubt he learned that from his dad.

How exactly has Magic been awful? The organization shut down Lavar interviews at Staples. Magic tried giving his young guys confidence and he tried to ignite a fan base hungry for a resurgence. Ingram is taking it very well. The jury is still out on Ball. People react differently to praise and pressure, and my guess is that the cream always rises to the top. I wouldn't know, and you for sure definitely wouldn't know. But do you know who would know about playing basketball at a high level under the pressure and the scrutiny of the national media? Magic Johnson. So I wouldn't question him at this very moment.

This isn't about DLO is it? I doubt it since we were able to unload Moz (talk about quite awful) and got the pick that became Kyle Kuzma.
