Let's make mock line ups for the Wolves tomorrow morning followed by the Bulls. We'll start with just the young teams and go on from there. 😜

Actually you might be on to something there. The Wolves could make a sign and trade deal with the Cavs to land LeBron and their lineup could look like:

Teague
Wiggins
Lebron
Gibson
KAT

not bad :O

Do we do Bulls now, or do we have to wait?

I don't see Okafor being anything more than a bench scorer on the Nets. Jarrett Allen is their future C. Amazing upside defensively.

We discuss most trades in FA thread so....

To be honest, if there was a young team I'd make a mock line up for (besides the Lakers), it would be Boston. They have enough trade assets to be as good as they want to be.

has this become netsground.com ?? who cares about that franchise

Lakers will be back on top with LeBron next year as he relaxes in his brand new $23 mil home he bought today in LA

We fight off the Sixers and Cavs for him though so this will not be easy, and also not to mention who is in front of us in the west.

We learned two things today. Lebron bought a $23M mansion in LA and the Lakers beat Philly. The answer is pretty clear. haha

We have to keep Jules. Just play him at “center.” Bring in a few big bodies to help him with the huge guys.

Why?

U know that gortat is on hook for 13.5?

Big thing: we can have a easier time dumping Gortat when the time comes, yeah we can just let Lopez and his contract to expire but we need wins now and he's not helping.

Easier time dumping Gortat... So what's the comparison here?

We have Zu, t Bryant and bogut

Need to get rid of Lopez ASAP

It's just really hard to find a match, because it would have to be a team that thought Lopez could help them down the stretch, plus have enough expiring salary to send us back. I looked at all the teams and could not find a single plausible scenario that works. Most likely, we're just going to have him all year, let him expire, and probably only have interest in keeping him around if he takes the room exception.

Lopez can’t really be traded with his contract being so high.

What the Lakers should do is bench him entirely for a while.

Let Nance and Randle rock there full time for a few games and gauge the results.

For those against the 2 max plan, do you believe we have a championship roster in 2-4 years featuring BI, Ball, Kuz, Jules, JC, and Nance?

I think the plan is to just let Lopez expire since we are clearing cap.

Posted something in the Sixers QFTOS thread, but since it seems like their fans hate their bench (particularly at guard) and seem to like JC, I was trying to come up with trade scenarios that weren't outlandish. My first thought was something like JC for Amir Johnson (who is not only expiring, but probably expendable now that they acquired Trevor Booker), Luwawu-Caborrot, and a 2nd round pick. The Sixers currently have four 2nd rounders in the '18 Draft, including their own. One of those incoming picks is Brooklyn's, which they wouldn't want to give up, but they also own the more favorable 2nd rounder between the Clippers and the Knicks, and maybe that's a fair ask.

The next thing I was wondering about is if the Sixers would give up Johnson and their '18 1st rounder instead, while keeping TLC and one of those 2nd rounders. They have so many young players already, and it's fair to wonder if they would value TLC over a 1st round pick that will likely be out of the lottery anyway (perhaps they could make it lottery protected). That would make the revised deal JC for Amir Johnson and the Sixers' '18 1st, and perhaps we can toss them back our own 2019 2nd round pick to just give them a little something at the back end of the deal (remember that we have Chicago's '19 2nd, so perhaps we could make them take the least favorable of those 2 picks, should we somehow be worse than the Bulls going into the '19 Draft). The Philly '18 1st rounder would figure to be somewhere around the late teens/#20, and would be very valuable in helping to dump Deng, or, if we fail to attract a major free agent, just another building block for the future if we decide to roll with just the young core.

We wouldn't have much use for Johnson, given our already-crowded frontcourt, but he's still good defensively, so maybe we could find a 3rd team to flip him to. If not, no matter...we could just waive him after acquiring him.

Just thinking aloud here, folks. Happy about the win tonight.

I think they will just let him expire. DON'T MESS UP THE PLAN!!!! Plus we're not going to the playoffs anyways or get blasted in the 1st round if we do make it.
