Why aren’t the Rockets considered a option?

because they don't have the cap room - the starting point is saying goodbye to CP3 and still not enough room

Rockets right now:

Harden, Anderson, Gordon, Tucker, Nene, Onuaku = $18.5 mil in space

That's letting CP3, Capella, Ariza, etc. go

Pay to keep CP3 and nothing left.

Could they let everyone go and trade Anderson or Gordon, perhaps but I'm not making the assumption that they let CP3 go. I believe they have a wink agreement that led to his opt in.

Thanks...

So I’m.. guessing these are the likely choices for LeBron in order...

1: Cleveland
2: Philly
3: LA

What about the Clippers? You know they will love to spoil the chances of the Lakers becoming another dynasty.

Blake = hurt

to get LBJ they need to lose DeAndre, Austin, Beverely, Teodosic and Wes (and any other free agents)

so LeBron comes to play with Blake, Gallinari and, uh, Steve Ballmer?

Thanks, I’m so happy the Clippers won’t interrupt any potential Laker moves, but I have a good feeling there gonna make a STRONG push to sign Paul George.

Philly is the best choice basketball-wise, LA is the best business/intangibles-wise and Cleveland is the happy medium.

That’s good to hear, but we should be super worried that he’s loving what Philly is doing, and let’s not forget he’s a East coast guy so he probably would prefer to play in the East.

Again - the Clippers are lucky if Wes Johnson and Austin Rivers opt out - and if they let DeAndre go - again, why on earth does Paul George go to the Clippers to play with an injured Blake and an injured Gallinari?

Clippers are rebuilding - if DeAndre wants to stick around they have no $ to spend.

Maybe LAC finds a way through this via trade but anyone assuming the Clippers land some big FA aren't really looking at their economic position and their existing talent clearly

The Clippers had a very interesting opportunity to trade Blake 2 summers ago - the incoming team would have had the ability to renegotiate and extend his contract - so they would have gotten real value

Instead they invested heavily in a player who has real leg issues - and over-invested in Gallinari

CP3 is out - he was the real draw for the top FA

I heard there was a Howard for Blake trade back then. Wonder why Mitch didn't pull the trigger!

The pros and cons of LA, Philly and Cleveland are pretty obvious. The real question is what's going on inside Lebron's brain -- does he worry about blowback from leaving Cleveland? How important is winning another ring to him? Does he really think LA will be that important to business goals and how much does he care?

And we don't know the answer to all that until he makes a decision.

Hopefully he sees it as well, I'm not sure why Philly would want him, the better alternative is going after guys like Bradley or Paul George instead, the Sixers being mentioned probably has to do with the fact that there probably the best young team in the NBA, it doesn't even mention rather LeBron even sees them as a destination.

They're mentioned because they have an enormous amount of young talent and room for a max spot. If Lebron joins the 76ers, I think they are immediately the favorite in the west. I can't say if he joins the Lakers we are the favorite in the west though. Honestly, from a basketball standpoint, the Lakers make zero sense for Lebron. Even if we get George, I think from a basketball standpoint staying in Cleveland makes more sense for him.

Bradley and George are obviously going to be around longer than Lebron, but they aren't in his class a player. If I am the 76ers, I'd take 2-3 years of Lebron over either of them.

Then there is this-

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/248271/LeBron-James-Pays-$23M-For-2nd-Home-In-Los-Angeles

Why is he buying houses and looking at schools for his kids if he is not coming to LA?

Count me as being skeptical as to why he would choose our team- we are so young- but dang why is he buying houses here and not in Phily.

Why do LMA and other players own houses in LA? Good investment and a nice place to live in the offseason.

Doesn't everyone buy two $20m+ houses in LA? I mean, I just did that during lunch. I want maybe 4 more by the end of the week.

You can't really judge the actions of someone who makes $80 million a year by the standards of the 9-to-5 crowd.
