Well with Embiid (and possibly Ayton and Bagley) we could be entering a center renaissance. Embiid could have a Shaq-like effect on the rest of the league where every team overpays a big man that can at least body Embiid up. |

Embiid spends a fair amount of time on the perimeter |
Embiid has a varied game: 35% of his shots come within 3 feet; 24% between 10-16 feet; and 8% from 3-point land.
That said, he converts those close shots at 70% which is higher than most big men star scorers.
So he's a challenge to guard, because he can pound you up close, pass and shoot from anywhere.
So it's not merely needing a big body. It's needing someone who can follow him anywhere on the court. |
