Does this mean they'll run the old classic fanfare before the Star Wars films now?

One thing's for sure, they now own the original New Hope.

I'll assume all the Fox Sports RSNs will now be rebranded as ESPN RSNs.

I didn't realize that was missing until you mentioned it. Whenever I watched the old SW on VHS it had the Fox logo but I didn't notice the new one doesn't until now.

I think was only about 20th Century/Fox studio assets.

Nope it includes the regional sports networks owned by Fox.

Great, so now even less competition for ESPN, not that FS was a big challenge yet, but now there's not even a blip on the radar for ESPN to worry about.

Exciting for Marvel to have their full catalog back. Maybe we'll even get a sneak of some X-Men in Infinity 2. That can be the launch of Phase IV, the X-Men era. And maybe, just maybe, we'll get a good FF movie.

Wow! You're right. $52.4 billion seems low for all that.

Fox only sold off the regional sports networks as it pertains to sports properties.
Fox News, Fox Business, Fox Sports 1 and 2, and the Big Ten Network all are still going to be under the Fox umbrella.

YES network is probably the most valuable of those since they have Yankees rights.
The rights to LA sports was probably not as valuable since the Dodgers and Lakers rights moved to Spectrum. So now ESPN has the rights to the Clippers, Angels, Kings and Ducks.

just in time for the net neutrality lifting too. Big conglomerates like this have the weight to influence stuff in their favor now on the internet.

perfect time to introduce Fantastic Four into the MCU with mankind having more of a taste space after the Chitauri in 2008, and Thanos in 2018. It would only be a natural progression for man to explore space and reverse engineer some of the technology acquired. It writes itself!

Maybe we'll finally see a proper Silver Surfer/Galactus story.

I expect it will be awhile before the Trank Stank wears off of that steaming FF pile from a few years ago.

I wonder if Marvel will end up cancelling plans for an X-23 sequel to Logan. Will Marvel just reboot the X-Men franchise after Dark Phoenix and bring Wolverine back to life? Marvel reclaiming their X-Men franchise comes at a great time considering how badly they botched Inhumans.
