If we just hit our freakin free throws at 85% we would be at +9 in points right now and this game would be a blowout. How does a team stay perpetually bad at FTs? Is it the curse of having Shaq and Kwame on the team? I hate giving up those free points.

This team is physically so gifted but mentally so weak... when they gain the maturity to match their basketball abilities... they will be able to compete with anyone.

Last time I checked they are a young team with lots of rookies.

... and they are competing with everyone!

I have to say...It's really hard not to analyze this game as addition by subtraction (with Lopez and KCP out).

That’s been the theme of the Lakers for the last several years.

The vets coming in and sucking, especially ones that are supposed to “lead”, yet it’s the rookies that carry the team.

KCP can go. And trade Brook for a bag of chips for all I care. We don’t need either of them.

Luke did a great job with the lineup and substitutions tonight. Kept the players on the court and not substituting for the sake of it. Good job Coach!

Didn't watch live but saw a full replay start to finish last night. Starting lineup - 3 ROOKIES and a 20 year old second-year player - and they put a BEAT DOWN on the Rockets!! Wow.

Seems to me there are 4 major factors making the Lakers an 11 - 18 team instead of a contender for about 6th seed so far this season.

Turnovers - terrible start to the season as would be expected for a team full of rookies, but only 10 last night. The Lakers are cutting turnovers down significantly. No longer worst in the league, not bad at all over the last several games.

Three point shooting - yeah we're still last in % for the season but it's rising very quickly, only Ball and Lopez are not shooting a competent %. Kuzma's hitting 40.5% of his threes now, and Ingram, KCP, Clarkson, and Hart are all hitting threes at a mid-30's % clip. I think Ball's going to find his shot sooner or later too.

Lack of a 'closer - Kyle Kuzma says hello.

Free throws - the only area we haven't seen improvement on yet. We still spot teams 2 points a game.

Anyhow - fun game. Great game.
