Oddly enough I just turned on GD-radio.net on the stereo. For my morning yoga workout. So I guess I qualify.

I don’t qualify as a Dead Head. But the old Dead shows were always a blast to go to.

I have owned over 5,000 records/cd's, been to well over 100 concerts and yet have somehow never been properly exposed to or explored anything by the Grateful Dead..

(Except I do recall the song: Truckin')

I like long songs, with jams and good guitar licks, can someone list some of their songs I should check out on YouTube?

cheers

Oh man where do you start?

I guess this is as good a place as any.

St. Stephen / Not Fade Away/ St. Stephen/ Eyes of the World / Drums / The Wheel / Sugar Magnolia

Put on a decent set of cans and enjoy.

I Know You Rider
Fire on the mountain
He's Gone

I saw the Dead live close to 100 times. On the right nights, no band was better.

I love all the Garcia ballads:

Wharf Rat
Stella Blue
Standing on the Moon
Black Peter

Jerry Garcia was an American Treasure, just an amazing creative talent who left us way too soon

Saw about 50 shows and another 15 JGB. Really started winding it down after Midland died and I can't bring myself to see whatever they call it now.

I'm convinced that their history with keyboard players was the inspiration for Spinal Tap's drummers.

You really should check out Dead & Company if you get the chance.

This is by far my favorite lineup post Jerry.

Loved the Ventura County Fairground shows in the mid/early 80's.

currently reading Searching for the Sound by Phil Lesh

Pretty good so far and his writing is quite palatable.

Bob Weir's album from last year, Blue Mountain, was pretty good, if you haven't heard it.

The Dead were always known more for their live shows than their albums.

A lot of the shows are recorded and available to listen to here:
