He really does. Especially with the trash netflix puts out under the standup genre this was a huge pleasure to watch.

New ones came out on Dec 31. Netflix has a total of 4 specials.

I loved Killin Them Softly and have watched it about a dozen times. I watched the new ones that came out last year (or earlier this year?) and found myself annoyed by his voice so I didn't enjoy them too much. I'll have to give it another go with these two, I've heard good things.

Marc Maron Thinky Pain (2013)
Marc Maron Too Real (2017)
Ali Wong Baby Cobra (2016)
Sarah Silverman A Speck of Dust (2017)

I wasn't blown away by his Netflix shows tbh. I saw him perform live about 2 years ago, in small club. He was hilarious in that setting. Of course he was drunk and high as hell and just riffing.

Equanamity was good, the Bird one was not a comedy special though in my view. More like an "Evening of Storytelling with Dave Chappelle". Geared toward people who have/had followed his career trajectory. Wasn't feeling that one too much.

He is the GOAT and it's not close. Went to his show last Friday and he asbolutely killed it along with John Mayor. His new stand up specials combine outrageous hilarity with concise social and policitcal commentary seamlessly. Dude is truly a genius.

His new Netflix stand up special that he filmed in front of the large crowd is the best standup special I've seen in my whole life. Not an exaggeration.

Bird one will go down as one of my favs. Not because it was hilarious..it really wasn't a stand up at all..but I thought it was genius in it's entirety.

Agreed, I think that special will go down as one of the greatest things he's done. The Iceberg Slim parable was a masterclass in storytelling.

All great suggestions, and I'm going to double down on Beer Hall Putsch as brilliant, hilarious stand-up. Stanhope's mother and his NFL fantasy are two of the most daring bits I've seen in a special in a long time.
