I guess I cant add to what has already been said but yeah this is a silly assertion. The Lou Williams trade remains a good move. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

Which poster gets the blame for this stupid thread? Who would you prefer we didn't have so that we could have Williams for one year, Kuzma or Hart. |

Useless player in the bigger picture, just like Jamal Crawford, you don't want them if you want to build a contender... |

Y'all still shedding tears over Lou Williams? Come on. I understand the concerns about trading DLo but Lou? He offers zero towards our future other than the late first round pick that we traded him for. |

I bet OP feels really dumb right now...Its pretty clear why we traded him, we were trying to tank for a low pick and Lou was helping us win games at the time. Simple as that. |

Those moves (signing Lou and trading him) and trading for Lin & getting the 1st are easily the best rebuilding moves the Lakers made. We needed more of those and less of Roy Hibbert, Carlos Boozer, and, of course, MozDeng. |
No the Lin move was a bad one. We should have tanked that year. Could have had Towns. _________________ A banana is killed every time a terrible thread or post is made. Save the bananas. Stop creating terrible posts! |

Lou was hurting the tank trying to keep an unprotected first found pick. He also netted us a a guaranteed first pick.
Truth be told if he didn't get traded last year he would've got traded this year anyway. |

I miss having a closer.
I definitely do not miss the one-pass offense. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Having Lou on this current team would help and at the time of the trade I said maybe he would be an option to return when his current contract is up.
With that said, trading Lou was the right move. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

That's so incredibly false.
There were times last season where Lou Williams would take the inbound pass, go downcourt, and take the shot.... three times in a row.
The ball definitely didn't move when it was JC in gun mode and Lou Williams playing PG. But LAL's 2nd unit was so good with those two basically playing Iso/PnR ball that they blew up other 2nd units. Unfortunately, it wasn't sustainable through the last 3 minutes of the game. Lou shot the Lakers out of a handful of games after getting hot in the 2nd and 3rd quarters as well. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

My bad thought you were referring to Russell since he also played the closer role. |

That's goes for all of our young guard, and he was going to cost us Ball and Kuz thus why he had to go. |
um... we got Kuz by trading Russell...
tons to learn from a guy like Williams. Right now there's really no vet influence on the roster. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups.
