How does Ball currently (halfway into season) compared to DLO year 1?
Defense and rebounding better, but offense?
How about DLO year 2?
Defense and rebounding seem to be still better.
Guess DLO year 2 shooting is still better, but Ball passing is much better.

Oh, this thread is going to be fun.
They are fundamentally different players. Would have loved to see them both for 1 year.
But DLO is gone, and I LOVE Lonzo's game. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

The only thing Russell did better was have better shooting numbers, which I don't think Ball will be that much worse by the time the season is over. Ball is just better than him at everything else. It's pretty easy to see that Ball is a true generational talent whereas Russell is just a high draft pick. |

Yup. From a DLO fan, this is the truth. My prediction is the usuals will come out take pot shots. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Not really same tier of player, Ball projects as a smaller Lebron with slightly better passing . DLo is more your classic one-dimensional volume bench scorer type. It’s not DLo’s fault he was selected high in the draft. Just poor scouting, but oh well he helped land us Ball |

They would have gelled really well, I'll tell you that - very complementary skill sets. |

Exactly. I think Lonzo would have actually helped DLO and vice versa. Sad that some fans will pit the two against each other when they should have been playing together. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

i dont know how dlo is doing now though i think he was injured for a while.
coming out of college, dlo was supposed to be a great passer, though did he regress there? |

Different players, can't compare.
Wanted to see them together. Never will.
If we get 2 max guys, DLO trade was a huge success.
If we get one or none, then DLO trade was as fireable an offense as the MozDeng signings.
Lonzo seems to make other stars want to come play with him.
DLO did have baggage around him that may have been a turn off during FA.
DLO also has serious injury concerns and barely played this season.
DLO has big fake teeth.
Lonzo raps.
DLO's dad got a dui.
Lonzo's brother got arrested in China.
Lonzo: Tripple B's in this thang.

I'd say the biggest take away is patience. A lot of people killed DLo as a rookie when he averaged 13/3/3, said he was a bust, etc.. He's averaging almost 21/6/5 in Year 3 (albeit in 12 games). Point being, maybe we should give Lonzo a chance. |

nice, so dlo is a 0.40 shooter while ball is 0.35 but ball better at everything else.
can this website give stats for the last 20 games played? |

All I wanted for this year, no joke, was to see the D'Lonzo pairing.
People were scared about the defense, but Lonzo has shown promise on that end. We could have maybe increased DLO's value with Lonzo IMO. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

let's just this thread....nothing good will come from it.
but until then....the truth is easy if you can extend beyond the bubble....when DLo got injured, his production dwarfed Lonzo's.
DLo - 21 PPG / 5 RPG / 6 APG - 19.53 PER in 27.8 MPG
Ball - 10 PPG / 7 RPG / 7 APG - 11.83 PER in 33.6 MPG
Per 36
DLo - 27.1 PPG / 6.1 RPG / 7.4 APG
Ball - 10.7 PPG / 7.6 RPG / 7.6 APG

guess a good Q is, personality/family aside, would you trade Lonzo for D'Angelo? |

would give the Nets Lonzo plus more in exchange for a healthy DLo. |

Basketball Reference isn't as granular with splits, but you can find month-by-month splits and compare them: Link
Just go to the "More [player name] pages" tab at the bottom, click on it, and look for the player's splits by year. You can do it for Lonzo this season and compare with DLo's rookie year. |
