Some people say Jimmy was responsible for two championships. He was nothing more than a coffee boy to Dr Buss and Mitch. Dr Buss and Mitch did all the heavy lifting. Jimmy had no responsibility. Mitch did the negotiating and his father signed the checks. Jim's claim to fame was drafting Bynum. His Dad allowed him to have a shiny new toy to play with. When Dr Buss passed away Jim finally had responsibility. Four years later he had burned the franchise down to the ground. He was responsible. Now that he's gone if Jim wanted to get an executive job with an NBA team how many teams do you think would hire him? Maybe they would hire him as a coffee boy. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

This is kinda random. I was a fairly vocal critic of Jim when he was in charge, but he’s gone and I don’t see the point in creating a thread randomly criticizing him.

Stay very calm. You have just awoken from a coma that you've been in for a year. You think it's February 2017. It's actually January 2018.
The only thing this thread is going to do is bring in the conspiracy theorists telling us all that Jimbo drafted Magic and is responsible for Shaq & Kobe. Let's put Jimbo in the coffin where he belongs and move on.

Breathe deeply. You'll be okay.
How 32 woke up this morning: _________________ LeBron, AD, & _________. Stay tuned.
"...there was a time when the Israelites were wandering in the desert and all of a sudden, bread came down from heaven,” Pelinka said. “That’s kind of what today feels like for us to have KCP join.”
Every single one of the Buss kids got their role as the result of nepotism.
The Phil Jackson nonsense is what ultimately doomed Jim. The player personnel moves during his tenure were criticized in hindsight by people who celebrated them in realtime, and I think Mitch was the one signing off on the moves.
