Seahawks fire OC Darrell Bevell and DC Kris Richard.

Bevell was an abysmal play-caller, so I can't imagine their OC next season will be a step down.

Maybe they'll hire Ken Zampese?

Mike Pettine was also the head coach of the Browns and I though he was underrated.

His last season as head coach the Browns won 7 games since they are like 1-31. Rex Ryan also called him the best DC in the game

This, i mean the refs gave the patriots round 1 of steelers vs. patriots maybe round 2 will be different story. Unfortunately the patriots have the snow and all the elements on their side. Plus thankfully the AFC champ game is first then NFC second

I get that you guys think its a protocol issues and are mad at the Panthers and the league for not protecting their players.

What I'm saying is the enforcement of the protocol is so weak that it shouldn't even exist. I don't think anything will happen to the Panthers besides a slap on the wrist.

Really you guys want more enforcement of safety protocols for football and I'm saying no one in football cares enough to enforce the rules.

I have no idea how you took that meaning from what I wrote. This is about the NFL protecting itself and its product.

I went back and reread what you wrote I think your saying we need strict league wide concussion protocols that need to be enforced to protect the NFL's product

Actually the more I think about it there should be NFL doctors on the field who arent affiliated with the teams that get last say in a players return like doctors and referees in boxing

I thought that the neurologists performing the concussion protocol were employed by the league? It is a simple process, prior to the season certain questions were asked and a baseline is established. During the process, those same questions are asked and compared to the baseline. It can only take a few minutes.

I am a big Saints fan and was into the game so I am not certain, but didn’t Cam go into the tent? Whenever medical licenses are at stake I feel confident that the right thing was done. I coach kids and one of my players would have never returned to the field, but the NFL is a different animal.

If they have independent neurologist on the field why are the teams themselves liable. Only the independent Neurologist's opinion should count for anything.

Seahawks OL coach Tom Cable, a rumored HC candidate, also let go. I don't know if I'd blame Cable for the OL woes. They poorly stocked that position until they traded for a broken down Duane Brown.

If the independent neurotrauma consultant clears the player, and is wrong, the team would not be subject to discipline. The team gets into trouble if the protocol is not followed. That’s what happened with Wilson, and that is what is being investigated with the Panthers. In the case of Tom Savage, the system just failed. That’s why the Texans did not get into trouble, and that is also why the league made number of changes to the system.

The last AFC Title game that didn't feature the Pats was in 2010 Jets vs Steelers.

However with Manning retired and the Ravens unable to make the playoffs on a consistent basis nobody else in the AFC in recent years seems to beat the Pats in the postseason.

The refs shouldn't of let Cam back into the game

They might need a extra ref that stays with each team that monitors players who check in and out of the game.

In boxing if a fighter is hurt its not the corners job to stop the fight they can throw in the towel but it's the refs power to end a fight or call a doctor

I think the league should stop looking to penalize teams they should instead look to fix their polices. boxing has better polices in place that don't penalize the boxer or their corner because they want to keep fighting

Anything is possible considering Norval Eugene Turner just somehow got another NFL gig.

Carolina is now probably going after Jeff "Flip Flops" Fisher for Defensive Coordinator.

Turner is probably the worst fit for that Panthers O in terms of the passing game. Cam's just not a pocket QB.

Trying to turn him into a pocket passer in year 8, agreed it's not going to work...

Cam Newton is am amazingly talented player, but there is something strange about his body language when I watch him play.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but it doesn't exude great leadership to me.

He's very mercurial. He's jovial and in a fun mood when they are winning, but he gets sullen and irritable when they are losing. It's not ideal, I agree.

Meh. He's a decent enough position coach, just a terrible OC.

Call your shots for this weekend:

Atlanta -3 at Philadelphia

Tennessee +13 at New England

Jacksonville +7 at Pittsburgh

New Orleans +5 at Minnesota

Using the point spreads, I am taking Atlanta, New England, Pittsburgh and New Orleans.

The game I am most excited to see is New Orleans at Minnesota, that should be a great game.

4 downs to get 7 yards and win a playoff game. You have a RB that's averaging almost 8 yards a carry. What do you do?

According to Steve Sarkisian, you throw the ball 4 straight times.

I was telling my buddy what a terrible game he called and not just on that last possession.

He stinks.

And with that ugly logo too..

don't worry i think the Steelers will have something to say about it. I don't think the Patsies have Pitts number anymore.

I hope so.

I guess we're going to have to wait and see what happens.
