Never knew this part of L.A.'s history.
-------
A long time ago, over 250 lions were kept in the City of El Monte where the 10 freeway meets the intersection of Peck and Valley Blvd. Several motion pictures were shot there and over 2 million people came to visit this one of a kind place. Today, the roar of the lions has been replaced by the roar of engines… but if you come with me we’ll take a look back at the unbelievable Forgotten Tale of Gay’s Lion Farm.
There used to be a drive thru wild animal park in the OC back in the 50's or 60's.......I don't think that would survive today...at least not in California.
Yeah, what a trip.....I don't think it would survive today with PETA around not to mention lawyers getting ready to sue the owners if a lion ate one of the visitors....
