If he were a free agent one year prior, he'd be on a 4 yr/ $80M contract lol

Damn, truth . How many dumbass FOs can a franchise survive

I think that's pretty fair value for him.
Especially the year before.

It's fair value if your goal is to sink 20% of your salary cap on marginal at best, 3-d talent.

You're probably right.
I had Deng glasses on.

I see where that sentiment comes from though for sure. You just can't afford to do that without the first few Alpha chips in place. After that, you can overpay for role players if need be. Too many people work backwards from that. The # of superstars pining to play alongside KcP/Bazemore/Crabbe/Harkels/Caroll/Solomon/..gasp...Mozdeng types is exactly zero.

I only caught the 2nd half. KCP was awesome.

He saved us with his steals. But still not worth more than 10 mil per season. Don't want him back in any case.

His defense in the 3rd Qt was elite. Everybody on this team makes bonehead plays; he just leads us in that category. 😂

He and Brook are decent placeholders. I wish them good luck on their new teams next season.

I was talking all sorts of garbage about him the first half, leaving Forbes open and disappearing on offense. Then he completely ratcheted up his intensity and it energized the rest of the guys to step into passing lanes and play better defense. That effort won the game. That is what is needed from KCP. When he's really engaged on defense, it can rub off on the rest of the guys as well.

Looks like he's hitting some three, making some steals, energized on defense. This has been an unexpected turn of events. Most importantly though, I love how he's always leading fast breaks. He also seems to finish fast breaks at a high rate. Someone like that is invaluable to a player like Lonzo.

I hope he can keep it up so I don't have to call him names anymore lol.

They don’t all play the same minutes, you really have to look at their bonehead plays per 36 (BHP)

Julius
JC
KCP

Are our leaders in that stat category and in that order. Julius is amongst the league leaders in BHP per 36 and also the league leader in pointless pump fakes in the key (PPFK) per 36.

He’s been playing well since getting out of jail. I just wish Luke had the balls to tell him to reduce his shots during that stretch. KCP has done a better job of playing within himself after that team meeting and has cut the number of mind boggling shots by a lot. Would be nice to see some more consistent fts.

I think he's been consistent all year, minus the jail time.

That's like 5 good games straight for KCP since being a free man. Previous 4 games he seemed to mostly play within himself and take the shots we should be having him take.

He still had some frustrating moments this game, but I can't blame him too much for trying to do more than he's capable of when we're missing Lonzo and Ingram and half the roster came out flat.

Agreed. Got to give credit where credit is due.
KCP started at SF and led the team with 27 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists & 2 steals.
KCP is playing much better now. He brought energy and had a really good game against the Griz. Of course he has his flaws but who doesn't.
