CAN WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!
What kind of dunks you guys think he can pull off? His in-game dunks aren't as sexy as they are demoralizing, but I feel he has some creativity up his sleeve.
Although if it were up to me I would just want to see him challenge the likes of Embiid, Porky, Giannis, and other shot blockers to just get dunked on one after another
He'll have some tough opponents like Donovan Mitchell, Derrick Jones Jr and Terrence Ferguson but i'm sure watching Lonzo assists Nance is gonna be fun to watch

He seems to do the Statue of Liberty dunk every time. I wonder what else he would try in the dunk contest? _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest

Larry isn't a contest-style dunker. His dunks aren't creative enough. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

I haven't really scouted the competition so I can't be sure - but I think that Nance is more of an in-game type of dunker. _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way

Your right but, I remember 2 guys who going into the Dunk contest, people said the same thing about, John Wall and, I'm gonna take it back, Kenny Walker. Some guys just don't show their stuff in games. All Blake Griffin did was dunk on people, never showed no real creativity. Some.
Guys need this type of stage to show out. We will see.
I answered depends on who's competing, but OP should have an option for Larry only wins because the competition is in LA. Larry is a fantastic in game dunker, but I'm not sure if he has the under the leg/360/over a mascot dunk down yet. And that dude finished in 2nd place! I would love for Nance to win. I'm just not sure what he has in the bag.
Personally I would love to see Nance Jr. in the dunk contest this year. I am also hoping that Donovan Mitchell makes an appearance. _________________ "Whatever you do in life, surround yourself with smart people who'll argue with you."
If he wants to do it, I hope he gets to participate because it might help with his confidence. I was down on him a couple weeks ago because he was missing easy layups, fumbling the ball, playing scared. The last game I saw that old Nance, who I believe is capable of playing at the next level. Something as fundamental as dunking vs. trying to tap or finesse the ball in can really make a difference in one's perception of his game. If he could perform well on the national stage, maybe it will give him that boost to play like a true starter instead of a role player.
It’s in LA, the NBA will 100% put him in it if he’s healthy. And he’s the son of a former winner, there’s way too many narratives they can use to not put him in.
Now can he win us a different question but I don’t think the Statue of Liberty dunk he uses in the games is the only thing he’s got.

Does he have any fancy practice footage or old high school or college dunk contests on youtube? I think I've seen fancier contest-style dunks from Randle than Nance Jr to be honest. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

I'd just as soon he keep his knees healthy. Then again, I think the slam dunk contest isn't what it used to be. You see it in footage of his Dad's win. Dr. J misses a dunk? Irving gets a 25 and loses to Nance Sr. Fast forward. Nate Robinson misses a dunk? He gets to miss it over and over, eventually lands one, and wins. Fast forward. Blake Griffin has to jump over the hood/lower windshield area of a car to get his win. Chairs. Other props. Teammates. Might as well get circus elephants out there on unicycles trying to block the dunks.
Do I think it's possible LNance could win it? Yes, depending on how creative he gets. Gotta get someone to pass him the ball just so. Gotta get some large object under him to jump over. Gotta do dunks he would never consider in a game and twist 50 ways to Sunday to pull them off. Without wincing when he lands.
Problem is, the more the choreography, the more practice time it takes. Lots of hard landings, and a serious knee injury in his not so distant past.

Yes, I'm sure he has more dunks like...
The Statue of Liberty 360 dunk.
The Statue of Liberty legs apart dunk.
The Statue of Liberty lefty dunk.
The Statue of Liberty pass from a teammate dunk.
The Statue of Liberty blindfold dunk.
The Statue of Liberty caressing bald head dunk.
The Statue of Liberty over Nance Sr. dunk.

A dunk where he gets as high as he can in the air and also leaps as far as he can and posterizes 10 guys at once.
That should get a 50.
