I’ve hated Dallas since the early 2000s.

Celtics
Jazz
Mavericks

3 teams I can’t stand. And mainly because of their racist fan bases.

Is Dallas racist?

City strikes me as a bunch of racist whites.

Wow.

Officiating was absolutely awful, not that it was specially in favor of the Mavs, but there's absolutely no consistency in how they call the game... Might be hard for a player to adjust, and the result was an ugly basketball game !

We won 5 in a row at the end of last season.

Probably the same people who were whining about those wins causing a 9% drop in lottery odds are the same people who give Luke (bleep) no matter whether we are winning or losing.

Y'know, the REAL fans.

Oh, we must be watching different games, I though the lesson for this game is whiners who don't think luke gets any credit for a win streak generally. Know. Nothing. About. Basketball.

You know nothing about basketball? I don’t know that I would agree with that.

We have played some of the worst teams in the league, mostly at home, and against one team that was severely depleted. The OP I was replying to said Luke deserves “a lot” of credit for beating these teams. I don’t know that anyone really deserves “a lot” of credit for beating teams like the Hawks and Kings at home.

How impressed are you with what Luke has done these past 4 games? Out of 100?

Mark Cuban is very liberal and anti-Trump.
Carlisle makes his voice heard whether it's a social issue or the president.
Dirk is in an inter-racial marriage.

The three faces of the Mavs organization are all white and don't seem very racist to me at all. I doubt Mavs fans would be racist but pay money to cheer for a team that is 85 percent African American.

Guys,

I'm from LA, so no Southern bias but live in Dallas. I can let you know that it has very nice people. Don't assume racism--there are blatant examples everywhere. The people of Dallas are awesome and that includes white black latino Asian and other.

I've been to Texas a bunch of times. After living on both coast, I have to say the people in Texas are way friendlier.

Probably some of the dumbest comments I have ever seen from supposed educated and progressive people. For those that think Dallas is a bunch of racists, well, here are the facts. I know don't let them confuse your bias and get in the way of your small minded thinking.
Dallas Demographics

According to the 2010 Census, the racial and ethnic composition of Dallas was:

White: 50.7% (non-Hispanic: 28.8%)
Black or African American: 25.0%
American Indian and Alaska Native: 0.7%
Asian: 2.9%
Two or more races: 2.6%
Hispanic or Latino of any race: 42.4%

Dallas is about as racially mixed as any city in America and then some. I spend a great deal of time in Texas and Dallas in particular and those biased comments were obviously from those that have never been there.

I would guess it depends on the neighborhood. I was born in LA... lived in the city most of my life, but also lived in the suburbs. Someplace like Westwood is super tolerant... some place like South Orange County less so... I would guess any neighborhood that has only one dominant group, whether it be East LA, South Central, Koreatown, Fallbrook... would probably be more xenophobic... one that has a mixed group... would be more tolerant.

My guess is that Dallas is probably similar.

Different people are going to have different experiences. Some people go to Dallas and love it there, others go to Dallas and have horrible experiences....Just like nearly every other city in the country.

With that said it's unfair to call a city racist if you've never even been there.

Mavs had won 6 of their last 9 including against Toronto, @Indy, @Okc, @NO.
They've been playing well especially with their small lineup.

If anyone wants to kill Luke for a loss I'd expect the reverse for wins. But again that's with my logic. Not sure about others.

I'm on the side that blames players more and blames the coach a smaller portion. So when the team wins, I credit the players more and credit the coach a smaller portion.

For good reason.

Anything that increases their trade value is good for the Lakers. I just hope they don't screw it up and let them walk for nothing.

Again more stereotyping, bullying and racism hidden behind politically correctness. So being a republican or voting for trump means you are a racist? I voted for trump...I’m not White European and my kids are mixed, I don’t have a racist bone in my body.

You should be embarrassed, that kind of stuff won’t fly here...this isn’t reddit or your college classroom.

That’s fine. I’m not complaining about the win.

The post I was replying to said that Luke deserves “a lot of credit” for this win streak. I don’t really align with that thinking, that it was some monumental feat or anything. So I just said no, he doesn’t deserve a lot of credit for these wins.
