Hart really can finish well with contact. His next evolution is getting the foul called in the process.

He'll either play well or not kill you with mistakes. There's almost no downside to a player like him.

I'm happy with the pick. We have a nice young core here with Ball/Kuzma/Hart/Ingram.

Now the questions remain: will Ingram finally play consistently and be our 20ppg guy?

And where do Randle/Nance fit it the long term plan? (not mentioning Clarkson because I'd say he's good as gone, as much as I like the guy)

what I love about Heart the most is the way he looks to absorb contact and still make his layup!

That was his forte in College and he is still succeeding in the pro level with that move. The Hulk is legit strong even in the NBA level.

what a nice 30th pick.

Ha, that's a good one. Hart Smash!

If you recall, Chick used to call Fisher that on occasion. Bulldog as well. Not as a nickname but when calling the game and talking about him.

He reminds me of Brian Shaw. He's not explosive or has great hops, but he's fundamentally sound and he knocks down those shots when he's open.

Hart is much more athletic. Never recall B.Shaw taking it to the rack, making contact with hang time, and finishing.

The best nickname that Chick gave Derek was Dexter. Not on purpose of course.

Two different players. Shaw was much more of a classing PG, especially when he played international ball before joining the Celtics.

Well that makes sense since Hart Hulk reminds me of a shooting guard version of Fisher.

Hart is on pace to be a different tier of player than what Fisher was. Fisher was was of the worse rim finishers ever and Hart's defense is already much better.

6'6" PG has to REACH to get up for that dunk, but he got there.

Oh yeah. Shaw's the kind of guy that never looked 6'6" on the court....until he needed to be. Like when passing over guards on the perimeter, getting the Diesel easy buckets. Gods he was perfect for the triangle. Could post, play off-ball, smooth passer

Hart is legit.

Don't want to get into the DLo-Kuz thing, but I much prefer to think that the trade allowed us to take Hart/Bryant (and take Kuz at 27 instead of 28). I think Hart may be a long time Laker and a piece of our championship team. Not a bad consolation prize.

Is it bad that I hope KCP misses a few games to "get back to 100%" so that Hart can start and play big minutes? Assuming Lonzo is back, too, of course. There's no fun in watching Hart get his time to shine playing next to (bleep) Ennis.

Nailing two late first rounders in the same draft is much more impressive than nailing two late first rounders in different drafts. It's crazy they had TWO guys on their Big Board who were both legit NBA rotation players as rookies, when most teams don't have one.
