Hopefully nothing major. With just Lonzo out and Ingram ailing it is rough, but if they lose Kuzma and/or KCP for some time it's going to put them in a really bad spot on this road trip.

Does anyone have Kuzmas shot attempts after one pass? This guy seems like he's ALWAYS firing after one pass early in the offense without regards to anything else. Really hasn't found a shot he didn't like.

Kuzma is a rookie and makes rookie mistakes, he's has a long way to go defensively and offensively. However he has great potential and upside. Give him time; the best is yet to come.

The problem is that he is as old as Hart and Randle, so his physical prime is only 3-4 years away (as is their’s). That is why 4 year players usually go late in drafts.

Some people act like Kuzma being 22 is the equivalent of a 22 year old NBA player in his 4th season..No way, no how. Rookie season is still a rookie season.
Things like NBA level conditioning, training, understanding of the game etc etc...you only gain that by playing.

Kuzma's potential isnt any worse simply because he stayed in college longer. He will pick it all up faster and develop faster than most younger rookies would but but he's still a rookie in his own right.

That is pretty much my point, teams prefer the 22 yo with 4 years in the NBA than 4 years in college. They have already been through all the rookie downs by the time they hit their primes. The college players haven’t.

He doesn’t but that doesn’t mean he won’t.

My favorite was after Victor got by Larry and scored, Larry tells kuz: that's you.
Because kuz was late again.
I loved how the Lakers switched the defense where kuz guarded the screener and Larry became the help guy.

Larry's been on Kuzma's ass recently on those. Been a much better vocal leader on D, love it.

His bad D and shooting struggles are getting under my skin. Still love him and all that but please break through that rookie wall already.

Probably won't happen until after the All-Star break. He also seems to play better next to Lonzo. He still can make some really nice passes. If I were the Lakers I'd just give him the green light and hopes he breaks out of it soon. His body is probably tired from the NBA life though. Plus injuries.

Well, Kuzma took out Brewer on a defensive switch.

The shooting has been up and down, he will eventually revert to who he is. Probably not as good as he was earlier but better than lately. The defensive awareness is better, hopefully the actual defense will improve. But those handles need a lot of work.

Handles are really limiting him at this point. I think he's getting scouted better.

His legs are still shot. Can't remember the last time he tried to posterize someone, think it was Embiid back in November. Just doesn't have the same pop in his step. It's the rookie wall so I wouldn't be too worried especially with Kuz who has played more minutes than most rookies do.

Tatum has had a drop off in efficiency as well this month. Down to 42/37/70 shooting this month from 53/45/82 last month. I think he and Kuz have the most mileage among rookies.

But yeah, I do agree that he has to work on his handles as well as his mid-range pull-ups, same with Ingram, to help him open up his game even more.

Kyle Kuzma is 9th in the NBA in volume of contested catch and shoot jumpers taken

His PPP open vs guarded is only 0.01 better, so he's essentially the same shooter open or contested

I wonder what the definition of contested is.
And he must not be accounting differences in 2 and 3s.
https://stats.nba.com/player/1628398/shots-dash/

His 3 ball % is way better when he's wide open
6+ feet wide open: 41.3%
4-6 feet open: 34.5%
2-4 feet tight: 26.7%
