Look. We are now 5 games out of the 8th seed and 6 1/2 out of the 6th. We have an entire second half of the season to play. I know it’s far fetched. But not impossible

Have Chicago Toronto Orlando Brooklyn and OKC on our upcoming road trip. Chicago should be easy to beat, even with adding LaVine. Orlando should be an easy team to beat, same for Brooklyn if Julius and Lopez dominate like they should. OKC's had our number this season, but hopefully Ball makes a difference.

I'm not even dreaming about the playoffs. Just hoping we give Philly an 11-14th pick.

Clippers got Boston and Blazers got Wolves tomorrow.

Remember last time we had a big win, it was against Houston. Then the Clippers stole our thunder by showing us it ain't no thang to beat Houston. That was the beginning of our slide. Anyway, lets hope the Celtics beat the Clippers!

Went through the schedule and came up with a 33-49 record at the end. Predicting we'll end up 9th in the tankathon. Just my two cents.

Bonus points if you can bring up the records up until this point in the season.

2015-2016: 9-38 0.191
2016-2017: 16-31 0.340
2017-2018: 18-29 0.383

The '16-'17 Lakers started to tank right about now, shutting down Moz and playing Deng less. Sounds funny to say but that caused them to lose more (Moz and Deng were still better than Zu and Ingram last year).

If they can manage to win 3 of next five it would be amazing.

Chicago is not going to be an easy game, as they are 15-9 in their past 24. I also wouldn't be surprised if we have a bit of a letdown for that one. I hope not, though.

Agreed. They've been playing well ever since Mirotic came back.

That will be a tough game, and a good win if they can pull it off.

I'd love to see them go 3-2 on this trip. Bulls game will be key to that.

Yeah the CHI game is gonna be a tough one. They really turned the corner. Dunn might still be out though.

Hopefully those two days off allow Ingram to fully recover.

Would be great to go 3-2 during this road trip. The Bulls, Nets and Magic games are winnable if we keep our composure.

I’m expecting a loss to bulls. They were beating our behinds badly in LA without Lavine and mirotic before improbable comeback. Magic we should beat and nets game toss up (we needed brook to go steph curry for ya at home last time)

Hard not to have a letdown game after a nail biter beating Boston. Chicago is better recently as well. Tough to tell. I agree the Nets and Magic are more winnable but even then it's on the road where nothing's a gimmie. If we go 2 and 3 I'd be happy. 3 and 2 I'd be surprised and flat out excited.

Then again, I didn't think this team had it in them to beat Boston and go 7-2 the last 9 games either.

We've been 7-3 the last ten games, and we could have done even better if we beat Charlotte and Memphis as we should have. Also we've finally learned how to win without Lonzo.

I don't want to jinx anything but it feels like the team mentally has turned a corner and I see us as capable of playing 70% ball but would be happy with 50% ball. Considering how we beat the Spurs, Boston, took Houston to 2OT and took the Warriors to OT in 2 different games, we cannot look at the team as simply a fluke. If we had just gone 3 and 5 during that losing streak, which is what we should have done, our record would be 21-26 and we'd only be 3 games out of a playoff spot.

So let's take things a game at a time and see what happens. It would take playing 70% ball just to get back to .500 which sounds really daunting... but if we beat the teams we are supposed to beat, make adjustments against teams like Minnesota and OKC who have dominated us so far, anything can happen. The team in my opinion is much better than our record.

Thanks tox I was wondering about this myself - and yeah the injuries really took a toll last year. IIRC the tank was on well before ASB, where we sat our vets and 'focused on development.' Man that was ugly.

This year is the anti-tank, when we win games, we impress potential free agents, spoil the value of somebody else's draft pick, put that pick out of Boston's reach, and put winning number one for fans who pay good money to see the games. No goal conflict this time around!

Only one team in the NBA (GS), has won more games than the Lakers during the current 10 game stretch...!

Clips lose at home to a depleted Boston team without Horford, coming off last night's game. I'll take it.

Without the crazy hot Lou Wil act, they aren’t very good. He has cooled down a bit...
