I get like 10-12 of these a day. I tried signing up for the "do not call" list, but it did nothing. At this point, I don't even answer my phone unless it's a contact, and I just check my voicemails for the rest.

Yeah, they transitioned to mobile phones a while ago. Some cell phone companies automatically block those calls or tell you its a scam so you don't pick up.

I have this same problem. The biggest offenders are the solar scammers. I can’t even have my phone unsilenced anymore unless I’m expecting a call. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

When a number shows in caller ID that I don't recognize, I don't answer it. I let it go to voice mail. If they don't leave a message it's not important. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Short of not having a phone, there's nothing you can do. Do Not Call list is ineffective and reporting numbers is a hassle since there are so many. In addition, they continually spoof numbers that are similar to yours save for the last 4 digits.
Someone actually started using my office number to spam call somehow. I started getting multiple people calling me each day saying that someone at the number had called and not left a message, so they were calling back (not sure why anyone calls back a number they don't recognize when there was no message left, but anyway). The weird thing is my office number is part of a large bank of numbers at one of the major studios and no one else was experiencing the same thing.
So they gave me a new number and that stopped . . . but now I get 3 or 4 calls a week from people trying to call Blue Cross because I guess the numbers are very similar. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

A few years back, I would get about 2-3 phone calls a week looking for an animal control officer. I guess our numbers were 1 digit off (I'm assuming her handwritten 7's look like 2's) so I would get a lot of her calls (and angry voicemails, which was kinda funny). It went on about 6 months or so until she finally called me about it one day. I'm not sure what she did to fix it cause the calls stopped after I spoke to her.

I get loads of em and basically just ignore most calls that come from out of state numbers or as Huey said resemble mine. Every now and then if I’m bored I’ll pick up and say no 50 times in the family guy Consuela maid voice. _________________ "The best there is. The best there was. If they are calling your mobile, and you know it is a scammer, just block their phone number after you hang up. I've had to do this a few times. Eventually they find another number from which to call - or there is a new scammer - but you won't get a repeat call from the same number, that's for sure.
Also, like Dladi, view it as an opportunity to try out a new voice or character you've been working on. You'll find yourself having a lot more fun than before.
