With the CAVS in turmoil, why not swoop in and get LeBron now?
If we give them Clarkson, Randle & Lopez, those are assets we'd be looking to offload, anyway, to sign LeBron or 2 max FA, anyway, so we lose nothing. Obviously, if LBJ waived his NTC for the trade, he would do so intending to sign here in the summer and having him in hand vastly improves our chances to sign PG 13.
Meanwhile, the CAVS get a locked up asset in JC, plus the rights to Julius (they can match if Dallas comes after him). _________________ Suck it, whiners. I have TWC! |

Umm, they'd want BI/Lonzo more than JC/JR/Lopez. |

But they have no leverage, given that LeBron can walk for nothing in 5 months. _________________ Suck it, whiners. I have TWC! |

We’d be giving up way too much. I say we offer them Deng, Lopez, and Hart. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

It's not even about what the Cavs want. LeBron isn't going to waive his no trade clause. He's going to finish the year a Cav and probably leave, telling the fans he did what he could. I don't think Gilbert wants to give him $200+ million with a no trade clause and I don't think LeBron wants to become a sideshow while Gilbert takes the team into a rebuild. Question now is where LeBron decides to go. _________________ 2-3-7-14 Los Angeles |

I think Gilbert - who has been through this before - cuts his losses. _________________ Suck it, whiners. I have TWC! |
