I think the Pats seemed a little too confident. They might not have taken the Eagles seriously.

Lets face it who would given the circumstances.

Again, the Patriots never punted. Their defense just couldn't stop the Eagles. This game is obviously on their defense.

I think Pederson just out-coached Belichick. Unlike the Falcons, Eagles offense never really sputtered and they were able to keep answering the Pats' scoring drives with one of their own. I was lovin it every time the Eagles scored and the camera panned to Matt Patricia looking pissed and confused.

Well the Eagles didn't appear to have much of one how else to explain Brady throwing for over 500 yards.

The Pats probably would've been much tougher if Wentz played they would take him more seriously IMO.

That's the first time I've ever heard him use the F-word before.

Isn't he a Brady fan too? He said Brady was the GOAT last year.

Pats made quite a few mistakes that game. It ended up costing them dearly. Missed FG, missed extra point, that stupid trick play where they tried to throw to Brady, the one play where Cook tried to do a high jump instead of cutting to get the 1st down....etc

Then again, Eagles had their injury woes as well. They lost their potential MVP in Wentz, an All-Pro Left Tackle in Peters, and a key LB in Jordan Hicks. Packers D was horrendous and no guarantee Rodgers could've pulled them out every time. If Wentz was healthy, this game could've been a blowout.

Maybe the NFL crews kept a closer eye on those balls?

Kobe needs to get himself a bigger TV lol. If I had his money, I'd be watching my games projected on an IMAX screen.

Nah.

The Eagles punted once all game. Foles was carving them up, and it's not like he had an Alex Smith game where he had nice stats but went away in big moments. He was absolutely nails on 3rd down, or even 4th down...that play to move left and avoid the rush to convert that 4th-and-1 from their own 45 with 6 minutes left may have saved their season.

I thought Foles was fantastic, and although Wentz is better than him, it's hard to imagine that he could've been much better in this particular game. Again, the Eagles punted once all game.

With Wentz, they wouldn't have punted. Probably would've converted those FG's into TD's.

It would have been a different gameplan with Wentz. The Eagles adjusted their offense to play to Foles strengths.

After the way the Eagles blew Minnesota away in the championship game I was taking them seriously but that’s just me. Minnesota was supposed to be the best team in the NFC after Wentz got injured and had just beaten the Saints. The Eagles destroying them got my attention. They also beat Atlanta the week before who was the defending NFC champ.

I thought the Eagles were clearly a bigger threat than Tennessee and maybe even Jacksonville. So it’s not like the Patriots were suddenly facing a much weaker opponent in this round. Foles actually looked really good.

Trick play with Brady almost worked. It only failed because he did such a terrible job as a receiver. Foles made a big catch, Brady made a big drop and that was a huge difference in the first half.

Instead of having a typical Belichick defense back him up, Brady looked like he had a Dan Marino defense to work with out there. The “backup” threw for 373 yards.

Back when Brady was starting out 3-0 in Super Bowls, he often just had to manage the game while his defense went out there and shut down the MVP qb’s like Warner, Manning, Gannon and McNair.

Sometimes I wonder if fans, including myself, are losers for saying WE. We need to do this, we need to do that, we just won the chip! We did it! I'm going to comfortably say We for the rest of my life now. LOL! Pretty cool seeing Kobe being a fan. When he was mimicking running and being giddy "hoo, hooo, hoo, hoo..." That was like me in his 81 pts game when he hit 60 pts, then 70 pts, then 80 pts. LOL!

The Eagles consistently created favorable angles and leverage for their receivers, and at times they even dictated favorable matchups. They got some significant help here from the Patriots, who shockingly benched starting corner Malcolm Butler. Asked when they realized Butler would not be playing, the Eagles assistant said, “After the first series or two. We were like, ‘This guy’s not in the game! They have 23 [Patrick Chung] in there. That’s crazy!’”

Butler’s absence was huge. Not only was Chung, a safety, now essentially the No. 3 corner caught in a tough slot matchup against the shiftier Nelson Agholor, but the usual slot corner, Eric Rowe, was isolated on the outside. Downgrades resonated at two positions.

Foles killed the Patriot secondary. Belichick DNP Malcolm Butler. He gave the reason as he played players who gave them the best chance to win. That didn't make sense to me. I'm waiting for the real reason to leak.

Depending on the result of the game, there is always something that people look back on. If the Patriots had won, we'd be talking about that weird deflected interception in the second quarter. If the receiver had hung on, the Eagles would have been up 22-6. Instead, the Patriots marched down the field and made it 15-12.
