I know a lot of Lakers' fans always thought of Porzingis as someone to root against because of the draft connection to Dlo, but man, this sucks and I can't help but feel like (bleep) for him and the Knicks organization/fans. He seems like a great kid, and this could very well be a career destroyer for a 7'3" guy that was already injury prone and had trouble playing big minutes (though to be fair, was way overworked this year).

Naw. Torn ACLs not as serious as they used to be. Wouldn't surprise me if he's back by the start of next season.

It's the Achilles tears like Boogie's that are scary.

I heard the NFL had 51 players tear their ACLs

Now there seems to be a rash of NBA players following suit.

Wow that sucks

Patellar tendons are also really hard to come back well from. But we've never seen a 7'3 guy have to recover from an acl. He's got super long levers/legs, looked to be a factor on that landing, there was no stability to his long ass leg

Dunno about Porz due to his fragile frame, but didn't seem to have affected the likes of Lou and Rubio.

Neither of whom rely much upon their athleticism.

I feel bad for Porzingis, the Knicks and the NYC area. That org seemingly cannot ever catch a break.

It sucks but players with that size rarely have long careers that are productive.
