Whether we like it or not one of Nance, Kuzma,or Randle will get screwed next season if we keep them all
Nance is playing almost exclusively at center, Kuzma at PF and Randle at PF and center. There would be 96 minutes at those two positions with a vet center playing 20 of them. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
So.. who is our starting PF for the future if Kuz turns it around and plays up to his potential. Considering how much of a beast Randle is? (and he doesn't get traded)
Randle = Draymond type role
Kuz = Iggy type role?
Maybe? (Not in play style necessarily ofc)
Mmm.. so Kuz plays 3/2 rather than 4/3.. Who would you prefer as a starter at the 4?
Kuz is still more 4/3 to me, Randle probably 5/4. I guess Nance 5/4.
Who starts at the 4 should probably depend on who the center is. I think Julius is the better player right now (though Kuz can make a jump next year) but Kuz's ability to shoot makes him an easier fit for most 5s (and for Lonzo?).
@tox Agreed.. I think Iggy is more of a 3/2 which is why I figured that's what you thought of Kuz.. but yea he's a 3/4. Agree with your post.
@Goat Our perimeter defense would need to be elite level in my opinion. I love Randle's defense on smalls when switched.. but he's not a paint protector. So I wouldn't rule him out as a starting center, but we'd really need solid perimeter D.
Yeah I meant he's like Iggy insofar that he comes off the bench but he's still part of the Warriors' "death lineup" (or he was, I think he's fallen off a cliff this year) and plays starters' minutes.
I would guess that no player has been affected more by Balls absence than Kuz.
Honestly I hadn't really noticed that the slump coincided so much but you're right. That just goes to show why he shouldn't be a number 1 option growing forward despite the plethora of different ways to score. Really can't wait to see Zo back out there on the court with this team the way we're playing.

I think coming off the bench is a factor, as well. Some guys get their rhythm better as starters and Kuz may be one of them. Looking at his splits, his numbers have steadily declined since November - but so have his starts. It may be "cart-pulling-the-horse" but I think he needs more minutes with the 1st team. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".

Vice versa, I think Randle's performance will drop once Lonzo is back.

Actually, prior to Ball going out, Randle always performed better with Zo on the floor than off of it... that was the same for just about everyone on the team. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service
Can we removie "CELTICSPICK" from the title too? Nicknames in the thread title seem to be bad luck.
He played short minutes and took 4 shots. That's not really bad luck. And I have no clue how what we do on LG can affect a player's performance or minutes played. Maybe GT can affect a game with his suggestions for Luke, but even that is a stretch seeing that everything GT says they are probably already aware of. It's whether they choose to implement it or not.
Yeah Brian Cook was pretty good tonight, maybe he should lower his 3pt attempts when it's not falling, but he doesn't really force anything, and it was either a 3pt shot or in the paint, so it's efficient. Still need to work on his defense and maybe try to add more playmaking (and he showed us he can do it well), but nothing to worry as a rookie. He's doing great...

lol truth is puppy crap would be coveted in this era. Kuz needs to work on his rebounding and playmaking. Dude jacks up a shot every touch he has

and some idiots want to call him Brian Cook
This kid is going to be our go to scorer in the next year. Once Walton gets his head outta his ass.
Yeah, what is the deal with the Cook/Kuz trolling? I mean Brian Cook was amazingly bad, dude could not even jump higher than a piece of paper laying flat. One of my all time least favorite Lakers.
Kuzma is on a different planet. I guess they are trying to make a connection because cook could hit 3 pointers as well. But man Cook never even took a jump shot because he could not jump. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss

Just someone yesterday who thought it was a good idea to say they were the same kind of players, when obviously they have not much in common...
