Dude lost a lot of money in one year.

I think the injury and the attitude issues in Cleveland did just as much to tank his value.

Even though his name came out of a lost bet, this Isaiah actually spells his name in the more traditional, Biblical manner.

I prefer to remember the IT who played for Boston then the one who just returned from injury and isn't anywhere near in shape yet.... but you can all think what you want lol.

Clarkson wasn't going to win any defensive awards either. So even if IT is worse... it's not by a lot.

If he comes off the bench, I think he's going to be taking away a lot of Kuz shot attempts which bums me out on a personal level

If he starts, the defense will suffer do it will be interesting to see how he factors in the rotation

Clarkson kinda took a lot of Kuz's shot attempts once Kuz moved to the bench. One of the reasons why Kuz's numbers dropped a bit once Lopez came back and Kuz was forced back to the bench.

This.

And even if IT will not work out for us, he’s an expirer so we can afford to roll the dice for him.

Whilst his attitude/play since the Bos-Cle trade has been far from exemplary lets take a second to remember this dude dropped 29ppg on 46/38/90 LAST YEAR.

If he returns to even a fragment of his form, which it is very much in his interest to do being an expiring contract, then we just got a very, very good player...like...carry you to the 8th seed type good.

Not saying it'll happen but it could, I loved JC and Nance but they weren't gonna get us there, IT could if he comes good. We have no idea what the behind the scenes was like over there in Cleveland but suffice it say it was nothing good, I hadn't seen a team that toxic in years.

It's kind of win/win for the Lakers.

IT comes here and he just sucks now? He's gone at the end of the season anyway and we just cleared 2 max slots and likely added a pick where we had none.

IT comes here and balls out? He's 95% still gone at seasons end but it gives the rest of the FA market a chance to see how our youth plays around a legit star player.

Think what you will of the man but even with the sadness of losing Nance and JC we just killed this trade in terms of players received/assets received/financial flexibility.

I hope he can return to form but I doubt he really gets the opportunity here ,with our priority in developing the young core, to at least raise his value up a little.

He's back to signing a make or break contract next off season.

Can we put him on that Luol Deng rotation? Hart has been playing great and I don't want him losing minutes to this miniature chucker.

Hip injuries are death for speedy guards

He is shooting as bad as Lonzo

I hope we just buy him out give those minutes to Caruso and Hart

What are you guys smoking?!?!

This is an unbelievable deal for the Lakers. You free up another max slot and just take on expiring contracts. Add into that a first rounder that could potentially be used to dump Deng's contract.

I think the Lakers should Deng him and just sideline him. Who really cares about his scoring, he’s a volume shooter with no D - just harms everyone else’s development. Plus he’s a bit mouthy.

Josh Hart is still on the team.

He hasn't been doing that all season like Clarkson was, but I hope he continues on his current streak. When Lonzo gets back, I'd like to see IT and KCP coming off the bench.

If anything I think his ability to run the offense will benefit guys like Lonzo and Ingram.

IT running the system just means high usage and a lot of shooting for IT. Maybe he fits into our system - I too would like to see Zo and BI off-ball — but IT never really struck me as about that life. Love the expiring contract - the player attached, eh, I could do without. But hopefully he proves me wrong

Lakers intend to play IT "heavy minutes " once he gets to town. Think he'll thrive in their fast paced system. However no guarantee he starts.

I agree.
