Zone defenses are still horrible to watch.

Jaren Jackson is going to be a better pro than Miles Bridges.

Grayson Allen as Danny Ainge the player, 2.0 . Even has the whiny face down already.

oh man stepien has lonnie walker at 28. i would be so ecstatic if we got him with the cleveland pick.

Just checked him... he is realllly impressive , my fav at our range. His twitch and potential shooting, and length.. wooh..
He kind of reminds me of rookie Shumpert for the Knicks , but with shooting to boot.. and that can't be understated because he's making off the dribble NBA range 3s too. He's a firecracker with his speed/quicks, and can actually be a firecracker with the ball w/ his borderline abv average handle for a SG.
6'10 wingspan.
Josh Hart is turning me into a sucker for energy/hustle SGs who have skills to boot.

lonnie walker is one of my favs - think he's gonna be a much better pro than college guy - already shoots an easy ball from 3, has good measurables and athleticism for position, good finisher around the rim and plus handle. he also shows really good team defense awareness, which is something i look for to really see if the guy "gets" basketball or not. draft twitter is pretty low on him as shown by his rank on stepien, but i don't think he falls past the teens, certainly not into the late 20s.

i just view shamet as a value pick at that range. not necessarily a personal fav but i think he's a safe pick with a role player floor.

trier is still a 2nd round value so we could get him with the mavs pick.

The most punch-able face ever. (bleep) (bleep).

cole zwicker and ben rubin are the best who are available for free now imo. ben is amazing at finding hidden gems late in the draft, and cole is probably the most thorough and thoughtful draft evaluator. mike gribanov puts in a lot of work and it's helpful to look at his stuff for HS ball especially, but i disagree with his evaluations pretty much every time. everyone else i either ignore or discount

Definitely would take A. Holiday in the second round. First round
seems a bit high for him.
But in the second round he will be great value.
A good backup PG who can light up the scorecard.

Any athletic defensive 5's running around similar to Jarret Allen or Myles Turner? Haven't watched much NCAA this year. Obviously there's Ayton and Bamba but outside of them anything? Nik Richards?

mitchell robinson BVH's fave could fall to us

jaren jackson jr and wendell carter are both lottery picks so out of our range, and jackson may be more of a 4/small ball 5

someone we may take a look at is anfernee mclemore who ben rubin has highlighted as a sleeper. could be a summer league type guy.

https://www.thestepien.com/2017/12/14/kaisers-draft-notes-anfernee-mclemore/

mclemore's advanced stats are outrageous - 16.5 blk% and 10.3 DBPM as a sophomore

nah miami is finally realizing that lonnie is their go to and he's been playing like it of late. check out his game logs for the last like 7-8 games in a row.

Looks like he's going to climb up the draft boards. I think he'll be out of our range.

Yep.
He's come on strong this year:
TS%: .617
3PAr: .406
FTr: .475

Just remember he's only 6-1 and he's turning 22 this year.
If he's anything like his brother, he'll be gone by the 2nd round

yeah like i said i don't think there's any chance of him lasting past the low 20s.

Also haven't gotten myself acquainted with Lonnie Walker yet, but I will soon!

Bleacher Report has a new mock draft up and it has us picking UNLV center Brandon McCoy with the #24 pick.

24. Los Angeles Lakers (via Cavaliers): Brandon McCoy (UNLV, C, Freshman)
McCoy isn't a sexy scorer, but it's tough to argue against his consistent production or the tools he's using to average 17.6 points and 9.9 rebounds on 59.1 percent shooting. At 7'1" and 250 pounds, he's a low-post option and presence on the offensive glass, but he'll need to improve as a rim protector.

@thestepien
@colezwicker
@mikeqrib8
@samvecenie
@brosales12
@TheArmoTrader

This is about 3/4 of the circle I pay the most attention to with the draft. I agree roughly 70% of the time (the draft is just that unpredictable), but every opinion will always be well informed and well thought out.

Yeah, he's putting up legit #s to warrant first round consideration. He's got wingspan to him as well, and unlike some shorter guards, has some strength to handle contact in the paint.

He's just TO prone. That's my only issue. I loved the chemistry between him and Zo when UCLA made their runs or needed to close.

Are you big on Musa? I don't understand if I'm missing something on the guy.

I've only watched highlight clips but dude just looks like he's dominating competition by size.

He can handle well for his size. He has a clue when it comes to finding the open man. I don't trust the jumper. He opts for that floater game a lot.

Very Boris Diaw-like when he first entered the league. Diaw was once thought of as a big PG too.

He's my top pick for our slots - whether 1st or 2nd round - at this point. Undersized, but not IT-level undersized. Solid enough shooter to hit kick-outs, not afraid to go to the rim to score or dish. Willing defender, if sometimes over-aggressive.

Good rapport with Lonzo. Was an unconscious 3-shooter alongside and as backup to Lonzo; has come back down to Earth some, but still a good option outside.
