Who are we rooting for tonight? Charlotte 23-31 or Utah 26-28? We are tied with the Hornets and 3 games behind Utah. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Where do y’all think ‘our’ pick would end up, 10-15? 15-20? Cause we getting Cavs’ 20-25 |

I say Charlotte because I think we'll pass them eventually. Utah needs their streak broken like yesterday. |

Honestly, as long as Boston doesn't get a 2-5 pick from us, I'm good. Hell, if Philly got a good player out of our pick that would help keep the Celtics from getting out of the East, I'm cool with that, too. In short, (bleep) Boston. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

I definitely don't want to help Boston but don't want to help build a dynasty in Philly either. They're good enough already and we haven't even seen what Fultz will add to the team once he's healthy. They might not get a star at 10-14 but have a good chance at landing a solid role player for a team that already has two budding superstars.
We just passed Charlotte last night. Do we have a chance to overtake Detroit or Utah by the end of the season? Utah's on an 8-game win streak and Detroit is 4-1 since they got Blake. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Their pick is currently 15, so our 11 is of little to no use to them. |

That range is where you find potential starters or build depth and it's also a valuable trade asset. Teams are dumping good players and only getting late FRPs. Imagine what the Sixers can do with a pick(s) in that range combined with all the cap space they'll have this summer. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Hornets and Knicks lost. We are now the 19th worst team in the leauge.
Utah at Portland tonight. Utah is 4 games ahead of us. Got to root for Portland. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Well the Jazz just can't seem to lose. They beat a Portland team that's holding onto the #6 seed for dear life.
Also, shouldn't we be 19th best? Or 11th worst? |

Pistons are only 4 games ahead of us and have lost their last two, including yesterday's loss to the Hawks. Hopefully, that initial spark they got from Blake's arrival has gone out.
Can't say enough about the Jazz. They're not as good as last season but considering how much they've lost from that team winning 9 in a row is impressive. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

it absolutely does affect us.
One of the last things we need is for the Sixers or Celtics to cash in this pick for a high draft prospect who turns into another valuable piece to their teams.
They are already on pace to be a better team than us in the next 5 years plus they can sway star FAs away from us. Why would any Laker fan not want to try to keep them from getting even better?? _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

It really looks like we'll stay at 11. That is exactly what I hoped for since months ago. |

Tonight's tank games:
Clippers @ Nets - Go Clips, Nets have lost all that luster of "hey, they're not that bad"... they are, in actuality, pretty bad.
Pels @ Pistons - Tough... I hate Blake, but I also like seeing NO go down in flames... and Joel Myers making excuses for them sucking is delightful... I don't think either team finishes below the Lakers in the lottery rankings though
Knicks @ 76ers - God I hate philly, but I need them to blow out Nueva York.
Magic @ Bulls - doesn't really matter, don't expect either to win more than LA the rest of the way.
Suns @ Warriors - I think PHX has one more "5 wins in 7 games" streak in them, mostly cuz the other team won't take them seriously, so the more losses they can bank for now the better.
Utah's gonna win more than the Lakers. Coach Snyder, that system, that home court, they maybe end up with 38-40 wins but that will still outpace the Lakers. 10th or 11th would be great for the Lakers to stay at. |

And the clips haven't skipped a beat.
They got a real steal in the BG trade. |

As long as IT doesn't mess up the Lakers chemistry and they get rolling again, I think they've got a chance at passing the Pistons.
Detroit is 4-2 since the Blake trade, but all four wins were against teams playing on the second night of a back to back.
They've got another game with a rest advantage this week, but I can't imagine they'd get too many more of those the rest of the season after getting so many in such a short time.
Barring an injury to a key player like AD for the Pels or Lou for the clips, the Lakers aren't going to catch the teams fighting for the 8 spot in the West, including Utah.
But passing the Pistons would be a good outcome. Would be great to send Philly the 12th pick. |
