I want the Cavs to suck as a team...for the pick and Lebron chances. But I really want JC and Nance to knock it out of the park. Those guys worked hard and had great attitudes. Nothing but the best for them. |

Happy for both of them!
Hopefully Clarkson will thrive as a Jamal Crawford-type bench scorer. And Nance Jr. gets to go home. He'll bring that great energy on defense to his new team.
Tough to root for the Cav's success now that our pick hinges on a lack thereof (not to mention the free agency implications), but hope the boys do well! |

EDIT: On another note, to cap off this eventful day, I finally reached 1000 posts!!! ...and it only took me a little under 10 years. Progress. |
I just made it myself. I don’t know how these guys do it. I’m on vacation this week so I got in a couple of extra. Next week,it’s back to sneaking on my phone every now and then for some recaps |

Both of them grew on me -- as far as JC goes, he grew on me like mildew on tile grout, but still. Rare to see a 46th pick become a player who sticks. He and Jokic are the only two 2nd rounders of their draft yet to be around in any real capacity. Thx to both and good luck. Sucks for ClarksTon (as Earvin called him the other day) to be sent to Cleveland as it is for anyone not from there, but at least he has a bro goin' with. This way it probably doesn't feel like such a punishment. Will miss Nancy lad's dunks and positive demeanor, but I'm still more vexed the Lakers passed over Senior to take Mike McGee. There'd be a 1984 banner up there if not for that'n. Losing Junior is a much more forgivable chapter in Laker history.
This feels like addition-by-subtraction where Kuzma is concerned. Similar to how the trading of Eddie Jones forced Del's hand in playing Kobe. Now Luke doesn't have as much of a chance in being cute. Kuz doesn't have to re-earn his minutes from Nance simply because he's younger. Plus, Nance couldn't shoot from the perimeter. FO had to open up the 2nd max slot, but Larry not being able to develop anything in the way of a shot last Summer probably had as much to do with him drawing the short straw as anything beyond that. I wouldn't put it above a flyover franchise like Cleveland from making this deal in part due to the sappy father/son angle (such an angle would make a difference to a franchise like the Cavs if not here). However, you're in trouble in 2018 if a non-finesse big like Randle can figure out how to hit the occasional perimeter shot with his little gator arms and you can't. A trey that Larry doesn't hesitate to shoot and that actually goes in feels rarer than a player hitting a halfcourt buzzer beater. Larry recently hit such a trey that felt like the first one since November. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

Feel happy for Nance; gets to play for his dad's old franchise and will likely be embraced there.
As for JC, I'm sure he'll happily take all those shot attempts that LeBron passes up in crunch time. |

Cavs tank to the 8th seed, and upset Boston in the first round. Ideal. |

There's only a couple of Laker departures in the past that made me sad.
Eddie Jones
Van Exel
Fish (pre-Smush)
Gasol
Add Nance to the list. |

And there was Magic's HIV announcement and Worthy's early retirement, but those were not management decisions. |

Just watched their interview at halftime of the Cavs game.
Nance really looks happy to be there. Clarkson still a bit dazed by it all.
Nance was asked about “if he asked his dad about his number” Said no, that was his accomplishment” . Such a class act!
Wish them both the best. They will be missed, how much will be determined over the next couple seasons |

Nance really is happy “it’s a dream come true”.
JC... not so much. He looks like he didn’t even want to be interviewed. |
Which is odd since he apparently wanted to be traded, he's stated that he's not coming back to LA for All Star, etc. But he is an odd interview at times so maybe he was just being awkward. I remember on one of our Press Days or actually maybe it was during Exit Interviews, but anyway there were apparently some donuts in the room and he got completely fixated on getting a donut and kept asking anyone in earshot to bring him a donut while people were trying to ask him questions. Finally John Black who was off camera audibly said 'just forget the donuts " to Clarky to get him to finally focus on the task at hand. LOL! Ah Clarky... |

Maybe that explains why Clarkson would be so distracted and braindead during some games and not others...
the opposing team had an open box of donuts on the bench

Gotta wonder about Nance's fiancee...she was a wannabe model, and modeling gigs in Cleveland are probably few and far between _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

Well actually if she's a real model (not just one of these Instagram wannabe "glam" girls), there's lots of really good commercial work in Ohio. I have a friend whose had a successful career as a commercial makeup artist for really good clients for 15+ years and she's never left Ohio. |

Off seasons in LA. They'll be fine. She was supposedly the most supportive SO. She was at every Lakers press conference/event no matter what. |
