Lol... I appreciate the replies, but I wondered where you all thought we ranked.

I'd say anywhere between 10th to 16th. In fact I might even say that only 8 teams are definitively better than us... and we'd be even with a lot of teams in that middle tier.

clearly significantly better than us: warriors, houston, wolves
better than us: wolves, boston, thunder, raptors
not sure due to injuries: spurs

Yeah I had Boston, Toronto, and Cleveland (maybe not without Love) from the Eastern conference and GSW, Houston, Spurs, Minny, and healthy OKC as the eight better. Inclined to agree with the three you mentioned as the ones who would be the highest, though Toronto also seems to have our number.

I really don't fear any team, or feel like they are invincible any more though... Once we get even one elite FA, I think we can win on almost any given night.

Take them to a game 7

that would throw so much doubt into their minds and surprise the whole NBA.

That would be awesome, though of course we had Kobe (who could single handedly win a game), PJax (best coach ever), and a big wildcard in Kwame Brown (played surprisingly up to his original #1 pick potential until Phx called in a suspect rape allegation...)

I give this team a 0% chance to beat the dubs. Yes, I realize this is your "dream"

I know I know

if it does happen I can forgive my Irish for not going to the Rose Bowl last year

Are we really going to pay IT the big bucks he's going to want next year? I doubt it

Looks reasonable to me. We have some games that we just take off like against the Magic. There will also be games we have no business winning.

I say we lose 5 games and win 2 games out of these games. Assuming IT and Frye can pick up where JC and Nance left off.

I have to say, I went over to the Cavs forum and they are absolutely ripping IT. They all feel like he alone is the reason that team had the problems they have had. They said he is the most selfish player they have ever witnessed and that he was nothing but a problem in the locker room. They also said that Boston was thrilled to get rid of him.

They said the two good years he had in Boston were more the results of their system than his abilities.

Mark that in contrast to what we are saying about Clarkson and Nance, 98% of us have been fairly complimentary. Maybe only 90% for Clarkson but still, we are not slamming these guys. IT is going to be a problem. I am hoping that the Lakers simply let him walk after 28 games. I don't want a headcase who is 5'8" tall and can't play a lick of defense.

I think if Luke tries too hard to use IT, our record will tank.

They're gonna miss Clarkson and Nance down the stretch. 31-51, which was my prediction before the season.

In looking at the remaining 28 games, I marked only 4 as "very likely losses", but I marked 8 as "very likely wins." That leaves 16 other games, and I think we'll be underdogs in the slight majority of those. Of course, there's no guarantee that we lose all 4 of those "very likely losses" or that we'll win all 8 of those "very likely wins." Anyway, if we manage to go 8-8 in those 16 other games, that puts us at 39-43. It's hard to know just how well IT will integrate into our rotation, but I'll go with 39-43.

I just think we have a good thing going right now and that our best young players are really starting to get it, and that whatever we may have lost from losing JC/Nance and replacing them with IT/Frye can be mitigated when Ball gets back. I also think it's to our advantage that we aren't tanking this year and that we'll be playing several teams that will be.

It's funny. I was just thinking last night that if the Lakers did squeeze into the playoffs, they could possibly push the series to 7. Didn’t they take the Warriors to overtime twice this year — and that was before the team started to gel? That would be so cool.

We are now in 11th place and 5.5 games back of 7th place. In fact, we are closer to 4th place Minnesota than Minnesota is to Golden State.

All we have to do is keep winning and hope that 3 out of the 4 teams ahead of us falter. Playoffs remain possible, if a long shot.
