I was willing to hold out for a late season run, but we have proven to play down to competition and continue silly mistakes. We can't make it playing even .500 ball the rest of the way. We would need some crazy stretch of like 20-7 or something to get back in the hunt.

When you drop home games to the Lillard-less blazers, defending champs with half their team out and the G league lineup + Lou Williams Clippers, it basically kills any chance at a top 8 seed. They don’t seem capable of putting together a 6+ game winning streak so can’t lose those type of game/matchups.

Boogie's injury may have opened the door for us to eventually sneak into that 8th spot. We are currently 6 games behind 8th seeded Denver.

Great news for us, but you absolutely have to feel for the dude. He's playing some of his best, most inspired ball of his career this year while putting up beastly numbers and then THIS happens. Just an absolute shame. I truely feel for any Player dealing with Achilles issues after what we had to witness with Kobe.

I want them to make it so bad. It’s like a Roller coaster. They win and look like they can and then boom start losing and I’m like ugh

They ran my blood pressure just tonight when they blew that 17 point lead and kept missing free throws

Denver has a tough schedule coming up. In the next 10 days, they will face Boston, San Antonio, OKC and the Warriors.

I am happy with 35+ in the win column.

If they had better shooting, 8 seed...easy.

Nugz #8: 25-23, .521, 48 games played with 34 games remaining
Clips #9: 24-24, .500, also 34 games remaining
Utah #10: 21-28, .429, 49 games played with 33 games remaining
LAL #11: 19-29, .396, 48 played - 34 games remaining

For the Lakers to finish at .500 (the Clips current rate), they'd have to finish 22-12 in their remaining games. Meaning they'd have to win 65% of their remaining games.

Assuming the Nugz finish at their current win rate (.521), they'd win 42.722 games (round to 43) for the season
For the Lakers to get to 43 wins, they'd have to finish 24-10. In other words, win 70.58% of their remaining 34 games

Neither of these scenarios seem very likely - especially given our remaining schedule

You know what's crazy? If you don't count that nine game losing streak, the Lakers are nearly .500 (19-20) on the season.

Even if they had gone 3-6 or 4-5 during that period, they would be in the thick of things.

Too bad they didn't gain any ground tonight. Gotta keep winning.

Of course Clippers would end up winning
Pistons got finessed in that trade.

Crazy that lakers are only 6 games back on the loss column from having the same record as the 5th seed after all those ups and downs.
Nuggets about to lose

We need 2 teams in the top 8 right now to lose a bunch of games because I don't think we'll catch the Jazz. If both the Clipps and the Pelicans start losing a bunch, we have a slim chance.
