To be fair,Walton required some serious criticism to get over his headscratching lineups.
Its better now, but lead to a really (bleep) record to begin this season. |

Yeah, if Luke went with the expected lineup, or heck if he'd switched it when the numbers showed how great the Lopez/Randle lineup was offensively and defensively, instead of barely ever going to it again, our record may have turned around a lot faster than it did. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Luke is a young coach with a young, ever changing team working for his second front office in two years, and the current front office has no experience either. It’s fair to worry about that and to criticize their work, but we should also acknowledge when they improve and learn and grow, as well as remembering their innate talents to begin with. I’ve been hard on both when I felt it was deserved, but I’d be an idiot to not acknowledge that right now, all of them are doing pretty pretty pretty well and learning from what does and doesn’t work. That’s all you can ask, even if you don’t like some past stuff. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. This. And it's almost cliche at this point but the entire culture and aura around the team seems to be so much more positive. Can't complain at all. Other than that horrible streak, we were playing good ball most of the year. Just couldn't close out early in the year but now we are. _________________ KOBE |

Luke deserves a lot of credit.
He’s had this team very competitive all season long. Not to mention the Lakers are currently playing their best basketball in what the last 4 years? |

Exactly! Luke needed to be put on the national hot seat to finally make some proper changes. I give him credit for figuring it out after being nationally embarrassed. |

You mean you give Lavar credit.
And anyone who doesn't is naive. Right? |

Luke should be fire just for playing IT down the stretch. Hart should be in for defense and rebound. Omg, why do we have such a stupid coach. God help the Lakers. |

Apart from the disgusting defense.
This is the stretch that lost the game.
Near the 4 min mark in the fourth.
Julius blocked.
IT contested missed 3.
BI blocked.
Kuz steps out of bounds.
Julius offensive foul.
In a no defense, offensive game, you can have empty stretches on offense. |

Not sure about the firing, but Hart could have been handy. |

need to give Luke time to adjust... he's just settled in with his rotation, wass riding on a good win% the past couple of weeks, and then boom, part of his core rotation gets traded...

Why did IT play so long tonight? Did he even come out of the game once he subbed in during the third quarter? |

I don't trust Luke to be able to make adjustments quickly enough for IT. Lue couldn't figure it out. Don't think Luke can the rest of this season. |

Luke needs time to adjust. |
^^This.^^
As much as I was looking forward to the Lakers continuing their winning streak, when you have a mid-season roster turnover, it's going to mess the chemistry up, a bit. I believe Luke had to give burn to IT, to see what he had in the tank, and have film material to look at, so the coaching staff can find ways to utilize him better, and incorporate him into the team. He'll have to do it over again, once Lonzo comes back.
I, too, would have liked to see Hart close the game. Maybe even Brook, or Frye, to make the Mavs pay for clogging the paint with their bigs. But, this is a whole new learning process for Luke. Plus, those bad plays offensively, and defensive miscues, are on the players. Not the coach.

How Luke is able to convince so many players to not play a lick of defense is beyond me.
So many wide open shooters and clear paths to the basket is crazy.
Ps i don't buy any of this Luke "young coach crap". Either know what you're doing or learn as an assistant. Head coach of a major franchise is not the place to learn on the job and constantly get outcoached.
