Is it just me, or does Isaiah remind anyone else of basically a rich man's Lou Williams? (Or, if we're going by this season's performances, a poor man's Lou Williams.)
I think he's most effective off the bench. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

Lonzo would be the facilitator, while IT will be the scorer. IT can come off screens or run the pick n roll, which will help Lonzo and the rest of the lineup with wide open 3's. Defensively it will be an issue, but Lonzo has the length to guard 2's. It puts more pressure on Lonzo & Ingram to guard the best wing players, as for all of KCP's faults, he lessened the pressure defensively for the young players as he usually guards the best wing players. Would prefer him coming off the bench, but if he is able to provide perimeter scoring, it can offset some of the defensive issues.
I'm not advocating IT starting but one benefit he could get by starting is he will already warmed up. His hip will be loose instead of coming off the bench cold where is hip will be stiffer. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
Nope. Don't want to see it. This won't happen but I want Ball/Hart.
Now close your eyes and imagine a world that has KCP/IT coming off the bench. Then imagine next season and them being replaced by PG. Sweet world huh?
I like to imagine
I'd be happy about this too. _________________

You can make good arguments for starting or bringing IT off the bench, but if you start him he'll take the pressure off Ball, Ingram and Kuzma (basically whoever is on the floor with him), which can help them develop faster. Just watching him in this 1st half it looks like IT is a good passer and is willing to set up teammates. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers
IMO by next season Josh Hart will be our best all-around guard.
He will be Lonzo's partner in crime. Lonzo will be the maestro but Josh will be the glue.
Unless Isaiah suddenly learns how to defend like the real Isiah, he is best served as sixth man, if he decides to stick with the Lakers.
It could work because he is such a dynamic scorer; IT could easily be in the sixth man of the year conversation and be one of our leading scorers.
The move could also extend his career in case he doesn't get the big payday which seems unlikely at this point (things could change but I doubt it).
Going forward we will need more DEFENSE and length in order to get to the next level.
I don’t like it because it then gives KCP free reign to jack up shots in the second unit. Lonzos pass first mentality helps keep kcp from taking bad shots.

This. It shouldn't be guaranteed that he finishes games either. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest

He's already said he "deserves" to start, so I don't think he'll be happy doing what JC did. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

When did Isaiah said that ? I'm just aware of the text supposedly sent by his agent to Rachel Nichols..

Thanks, I saw the vid but didn't pay attention to that specific part...
At the same time, I don't think that's scandalous from him to say that, I have no problem with players who have confidence in themselves... as long as they are willing to fallow any instructions and accept any role the coach want to give them. And that's what he says in the interview, so right now I'm not worried... We'll see what happens, I just hope Luke will be brave enough to put him on the bench if he's a liability on the court...

He has NO defense. Luke & the FO should not bend over for him. We need to
win not please IT because he can score. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !

I'm willing to keep an open mind on IT's comments, and watch the games to see whether IT accepts an appropriate role, plays hard and puts the team first.
If IT starts to complain about his role or dogs it, however, I'd rather show him the door a few weeks early. We've already got an overzealous dad in Lithuania getting too much microphone. We don't need a LaVar Mini-Me on the floor doing the same thing.
