He was a terrific energy guy for us. Like a Tarik Blake was for us, but with better offense and fundamentals. He will be missed, but with Kuzma on the roster he was expendable.

Chris Fedor: #Cavs Koby Altman said Larry Nance Jr. was in borderline tears when he got the news earlier today, so excited to come to Cleveland.

Yeah that's it - tears of joy to be going to Cleveland. That happens all the time, I'm sure.

Larry knew he would be a Cav before it's all said and done. Sooner is better than later. I'm sure he'll make his way back here someday when our Championship roster needs additional help.

Let's rewind for a minute. Magic said we aren't trading Nance. Nance starts for a chunk of the season. Nance comes back from injury and still starts. Lakers looked to move off from Nance in Dec. Nance gets traded at the deadline as a sweetener. Was this the plan all along?

Then I guess we were "hiding" Julius earlier in the year lol

Larry was the perfect role player for this team. Disappointed to see him go, but glad he'll get a crack at more playoff experience.

I will miss him, but I won't miss him coming back every summer talking about that three he's been working on. Now he can tease Cleveland fans with that.

Man I miss Larry already. This team is going sorely miss his athleticism, hops and length on D. We don't really have a player with this attributes on the roster now and that is going to hurt.

If we keep the Cav's pick we must pick up another Larry type athlete to fill the void.

Kuz is awesome and JR has been bringing it, both could use more minutes so I guess it will work out for us, but we will miss that bounce, IQ and length on D.

Very much so. He always flew under the radar and never got the attention/respect he deserved. And he didn't even care for those things. That's what made him so valuable. Just came to work with his hard hat on, supported his teammates, became the captain of our defense. His presence will be missed.

Really enjoyed watching Nance play, especially his rebounding, dunks, and defensive intelligence. Wish him all the best and hope to see him back in a Laker uniform someday.

Larry was our defensive captain. He got after guys on that end of the floor and led by example.

Now the question is who is going to be the team's defensive backbone? Hart and Lonzo are pretty good on the perimeter but they're rookies and you need a defensive alpha on the wings or in the frontcourt. Pope is strangely not that impactful defensively. Ingram runs hot and cold, Kuzma is working his way to average, Brook is good at some important stuff but bad at some important stuff.

The guy that really could give the team a defensive identity is Randle. He has the tools to guard all five positions and he's a hell of a rebounder. He just doesn't see his identity as a defender.

Larry wouldn't let us get dunked on 20 times in a row like the Mavs did to us tonight. Dude is too smart for that. Enjoy him CLE.

Probably one of the rarities since his dad's jersey is retired by the Cavs, and he grew up in the area, plus he is going to get to play in the playoffs. Which is a reason why the Cavs have a hard time attracting talent unless you have players that grow up in the area like Lebron.
