There are reportedly 4 teams interested in trading for Matt Kemp?! I wonder who the teams are and what the Dodgers are willing to trade to get rid of him. Maybe once the Dodgers find a way out of his deal they'll start to look at free agents again. |
Yeah, I find it almost impossible to believe that the Cubs would trade for Matt Kemp. |
Judging by our luck, he'll probably go to Chicago, develop into a defensive stud, and hit the game winning HR to knock us out next year. |
I'm good with that. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

So have we done anything of consequence this winter? Feels like all I hear about are our competitors getting better... _________________ KOBE |

Luxury tax has hamstrung us this offseason. |

Kershaw will likely opt out in 2018 and this limpdick FO has a very good chance of losing him to the Rangers. |
I doubt it....he's basically our franchise star. |

He may be. I don't think this FO realizes it. They may throw some excuse like Kershaw is gimpy and unclutch to use Kershaw money to sign others. _________________ http://media.giphy.com/media/zNyBPu5hEFpu/giphy.gif

If Kershaw misses time again this season with the back, and wants another 6 years and, say, $200MM, and if he is inconsistent in the postseason again...sorry, I'd let him walk. |

Crap not feeling too cool about having Darvish and Morrow join one of our NL threats, maybe they got the goods on how to attack our hitters. Gotta bring in Arrieta to somewhat counter the Cubs. |

FYI, Dicks sporting goods have Dodger WS gear on sale for $5. I got a few t-shirts, a few hoodies, a baseball tee all for $5 each. |

People are sleeping on Walker Beuhler and how good he's going to be. Dude is going to be a top notch pitcher! |

We need to sign Arrieta. We messed up big time when we didn't get JV. I can understand letting Yu walk but we gotta get a legit #2. |

I would hope so and at the right price. But the likelihood of the sabermoron FO making any significant acquisition is slim. | They will get someone at the trading deadline. There is no need to rush into something that isnt right for the team. They dont need to make a move just to make a move. |

So our rotation is Kersh, Hill, Maeda(?), Ryu (?) and Wood? And we lost some of our bullpen. I hope the bats stay awake because I'm not so sure about our pitching staff being a consistently dependable bunch.
If we don't get Arietta then we need to get someone like Lance Lynn to fill up the 3rd pitcher spot/compete for the 2nd. |

Wasn't too impressed with either Beuhler nor Verdugo despite the Dodger hype machine....clearly they ain't Seager or Belli type sure fire prospects. Hope these kids can come back ready to battle and preserve the deepest roster in MLB. |

As it stands right now, yes. But Buehler and Urias could both be options sometime later in the year (I expect Buehler to be sent down to the minors to start the season even if he lights up Spring Training), and guys like Stewart and Stripling could make starts if necessary. There's plenty of depth and I think we can get through the season just fine. The issue will be, is that rotation strong enough in the postseason? If no one emerges as a true #2, perhaps they address that before the trade deadline. Or maybe they surprise us all and make a trade for someone like Chris Archer this week lol. |

I'm not worried about the RS but this pitching staff as is going into the postseason is concerning. We got plenty of time to change that or for this staff to prove me wrong though. |

Apparently we're in talks to bring back Utley again. It better be for really cheap this time, and I'd like to have a guy on the postseason roster that might actually get a base hit. |

Chase coming back seems like a good move to help the young guys grow, he will be a good influence for them. |

I don't mind if cheap. I think he'll take a hometown discount. He wants to win one for his home team and I don't mind his leadership in the dugout. |
Regular season is fine. But once it's the postseason, the Dodgers are gonna need a more impactful bat in the lineup unless it's against a wild pitcher since Utley is more than willing to take a HBP for the team. |

For what it's worth, Matt Kemp has apparently lost 41 pounds and wants to lose a total of 50.

Alright, Chase Utley is back! Wouldn't want to lose that veteran leadership in the playoffs! _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
