Good stuff. I think he's going to be a really good offensive player. Just needs to work on his defense which takes time for a rookie center.

I haven’t been paying attention to Gatorade League

He’s like a Shaq/Mamba hybrid. Does he have handles?

He’s got some tools that’s for sure. Hope to see him get a few games in the rotation before the end of the year. Then we’ll see how he develops over the summer. Frye should not get any pt IMO, and let Zu and TB get some run.

Frye might be a useful replacement for Brook if he doesn't want to sign for a smaller contract. Agree they should play the youngsters more... but we should give him a little run.

There's always a place in the roster for veterans who are a positive locker room presence. Channing Frye might be cool to keep around.

Strong comments like this from Pelinka make me think that Zubac isn't really in the FO's plans for the future.

This is nice to hear, but I haven't heard Pelinka talk in lukewarm terms about any player. It's his job to be super positive about everyone.

Pelinka is playing too much 2K. Thomas Bryant always ends up being a stud in like 5 years. Sometimes even an MVP candidate.

Would love the hear what Jesse has to say about Bryant. That's the guy who apparently has the Midas touch.

Of course they do.. the more late picks they hit on, the more the FO is lauded and legitimized

Zubac has been getting some mins, would realllly prefer those going to TB, it’s farily obvious zubac isn’t a piece for us, he’s jag and good as gone. I want TB to get those mins were wasting on zubac.

Been watching the games and it's not that surprising. Basically, most of his pts come from dunks usually from a pick and roll.

I've been watching off and on a bit and I don't see the D or activity on the glass he's going to need in the league. It's not going to be enough to just hit some threes.

I agree. The few times I watched him, he played heavy footed. He just doesn't move like an NBA player. Modern centers need to be springy and light on their feet. He's going to be a long term project. Nice to know he's under 10% body fat though. He's putting in the work and that's all you can ask.

If he can keep improving his lateral agility, he has a place in this league.

As it stands now he can’t compete on defense against NBA competition. That said, he’s made massive strides athletically this year, so it’s not unreasonable that he’ll continue to improve.

I wonder if those plans include getting him some minutes with the Lakers?

I'm glad to hear this. The kid has NBA potential.

T. Bryant's offense is coming along nicely. He's has a post presence and length with a 7’6” wingspan. He could play some stretch 4 early on but is more of a true stretch 5.
He has proven that he can drain the three at a pretty nice rate. His shot from deep is more developed, at this point in his career, than some of the better stretch 5's in the league when they were his age.

However his defense and rebounding is not up to par just yet. He is by no means an explosive athlete therefore he's an average rim protector but he tries to compensate by hustling on both ends of the floor.
Fortunately he has shown an eagerness to put in the work in order to improve.

As stated above, he has to improve his lateral movement and quickness. He's also kind of stiff.

The kid is obviously a work in progress but he has a good work ethic, he hustles and his enthusiasm is infectious. He's very intelligent and he is 100% a team player.
With hard work, proper coaching, time and experience IMO TB could be a good NBA player and a valuable piece for us in the future.
