I was thinking about Lakers signing Gelo to their G-League affiliate...but why? Why reward this kind of behavior from Lavar? You'll just encourage more/worse things from him.

I hope this was just a freak injury or something, b/c DLO/JC as the other young guards never missed this many games their rookie years to injury.

Young man has played a lot of basketball. As a parent of a teenager playing soccer year-round, I'm coming around to the realization that few kids can truly withstand the nonstop pounding their bodies take. Hopefully Lonzo will trade in some of his paved-road hill sprints for lower-impact exercises, especially given the advanced facilities available to him at the Lakers training center.

People talking about Fultz, now Lonzo going through it. And to think, Lonzo shot is broken with no sort of injury to his shoulder or arms, anything of that nature.

I just laugh when people have already concluded that Lonzo is good to go and Fultz is a bust.

In Lonzos last 15 games or since the start of December, he’s shooting 35% from 3 on high volume. Fultz didnt even shoot a 3 in the 4 games he’s played. Lonzos shot isn’t broken, and even if you want to consider it broken it is ridiculous to compare it to the level of broken that is Fultz shot right now. Not to mention Lonzo has shown he’s able to affect the game in a numerous amount of ways. So yes, he’s good to go. I agree it’s premature to call Fultz a bust but it’s not looking good.

Yeah. As I age, I've been hitting the pool (was a competitive swimmer in high school) and it's so much easier on my body than high impact training.

Hopefully it's the opposite of dlo, who played 80 his rookie year.
But missed 19 year 2 and over 20 so far this year.

Ball is at 19 missed games so far. Hoping he stays healthy the following years. More mass and let minutes.

Yeah. Getting a competent backup PG for Lonzo is a must IMO this summer.

The saga continues!
The funny thing is, we never hear Lonzo's take.
We're assuming Lonzo is gonna do whatever his dad says in public. (Mind you, we dont know what is said in private, which may or may not be the same thing).

I'm selfishly hoping Lonzo makes the right decisions that benefit the Lakers

I couldn't agree more, Chris Broussard is making sense in 2018.

One caveat.
Lets say Melo becomes good. I mean, NBA starter level good.
Would you sign him for $1M and use an extra spot for Gelo at the minimum?
And say Lonzo also gave the team a discount.

Imagine the cap savings to use on other players.

Crazy Lavar. Ingenious Lavar? No, definitely crazy. I think.

I don't think anyone important gives much of a (bleep) about what LaVar says. It's nothing more than fodder for the soap opera "sports" shows.

Exactly! Lavar speaks to stay relevant and to market his brand. Sometimes he says some truth (when he called out Luke) but most of the time it's BS to gain more exposure and be on all those morning sports hot take shows.

Not a good look...

Quote:
If you want a piece of Lonzo Ball, you’d better be ready to pony up. The Los Angeles Lakers rookie will be available for autographs at the Puente Hills Mall in the City of Industry—a shade under 22 miles east of Staples Center—on Saturday afternoon of NBA All-Star Weekend.

The cost? A cool $199. For just $10 more, you can get your signed memorabilia authenticated by Beckett Witness Certification.

While Lonzo hasn’t been making headlines on the basketball court because he’s been sidelined due to injury, he clearly will not go quietly as this family just keeps pulling out the surprises. He was recently on Lip Sync Battle showcasing his rap skills performing to Migos’ “Bad and Boujee,”

Well, he has a lot of extracurricular stuff. I'm hoping he leads us to a championship one day but man is he busy off the court.

He's close to being back. I think they'll probably hold him out of the next two games to let him have the All-Star break too, but he's close. We'll know within the hour if he had full contact practice today.

He's either tone deaf or doesn't care about how things come across. That stuff irks me, at least when he's not playing.

Nobody should have to tell him to be his own man. It's a decision he has to make on his own. He's about to be a father himself soon and will need to make decisions in the best interest of his own family. Is he going to let his own dad keep controlling his life?

If so, I don't expect his tenure with the Lakers to be a long one.

I would think to someone like Magic it would too. The trio of DLO/Swaggy/JC were routinely killed for their extracurricular activities too.

I don't care about the extracurriculars if the guy is playing and playing well.
