Some of ya'll are just NOW acknowledging it cause he isn't wearing a Lakers jersey anymore. |
JC was looking like he might be blossoming too. I think we paid too heavy a price in order to keep Jules and sign two max. I don't think PG13 is that good of a player that will make a great impact. Lebron, maybe, he could make the Lakers immediate contender for a few years but seeing as how Cleveland is playing right now, it'd be hard for him to leave Cleveland if they made it the NBA Finals again. |

I like how they're closing the game with JC and Nance. |

Unbelievable. Even in a trade that we unanimously got declared as winners from NBA media who hate all things Lakers, people still complain. |
coming from the guy that not too long ago had 90%+ of his posts claiming how JC was terrible at basketball |

I also am fine if we only get PG13... If we get LeBron, of course I won't complain but I think all we need is Paul and a rim protector, maybe another shooter. |

We paid a high price to sign two max and keep Jules? That high price is Nance and Clarkson? So you rather have those two over two MAX FAs? I just want to make sure I understood.
I'm starting to think some of you guys actually like missing the playoffs. |

It’s not rocket science. Role players play better with better players. I bet Lonzo/bi/Kuz would look amazing too alongside lbj/Pg13 too. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

So tf what?
So we have a bunch of young 20 year olds all that fit together and about to head into their prime and gives the team a lot of depth going forward and that's a bad thing?
Instead of waiting on a 35M free agent to come take pity on us, how about we BUILD with the young talent coming into their own.
If you could get Rodney Hood for KCP and Elfrid Payton for Ennis and a 2nd round pick, yeah you have to "pay them" but think of it this way.
By the time these "35M come take pity on us" free agents are 30 and the warriors are falling off, we have a squad of 20 year olds just entering their prime and you got something like this .
Starters:
Lonzo Ball
Rodney Hood
Brandon Ingram
Julius Randle
Brook Lopez
Bench:
Elfrid Payton
Jordan Clarkson
Corey Brewer
Kyle Kuzma
Larry Nance Jr, / Ivica Zubac / Thomas Bryant
Rodney Hood is a perfect 2 to fit next to ball, Ingram is coming into his own, Randle is coming into his own. Payton as an OFF THE BENCH POINT GUARD table setter for JC wouldn't be fair lol.
Then you look at the seasons Payton and Hood were having, and think about the Lakers would have gotten Hood and Payton right before they come into their own, for KCP, Tyler Ennis and a 2nd round pick.
Yeah that means "Oh we can't throw money at a max free agent and beg them to join us while we watch them go somewhere else" but tbh I've been sick of that approach that has NOT been working the past 4-5 off-seasons.
Getting Hood and Payton is more like how the Spurs or the Warriors would do it. And tbh, I'd rather build this team THAT way.
Consider where the team is right now and the run they were on, and you add Payton off the bench, and Hood as the starting 2 next to that. We may have a chance at a VERY big improvement over last year and potentially the playoffs.
All THAT to me, means a lot more going into the off-season on a whimper and begging a max free agent to leave their better situation for us and take pity on us imo. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

every time the Magic give up on a young player....hurry and get in line because it is almost automatic they will have big time success in their new city. |
Then why is Dlo coming off the bench in a cellar dweller like the Nets?
yep, big time success _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

With players looking good on other teams, imagine Ingram, Kuzma and Lonzo on other teams?
Kuzma on teams like the Rockets, Raptors, Wolves, 76ers, etc would be unguardable.
Ingram on the Spurs would probably be one of the top NBA players already.
Lonzo on any team would average a near triple double because literally every other team would have a shooting coach. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

I haven't found an analyst who said we didn't win. In fact, most said we robbed them which clearly that wasn't the case. |

A "chance" at two max. A lot of you guys excited about the trade seem to assume we're going to get two superstars for certain. |

So how else are we supposed to get two maxes if we don't clear space?
Miami took a chance and signed Lebron and Bosh. You think they care that they lost Michael Beasley?
So you rather miss out on that chance and comfortably watch this team not make the playoffs in 2019?
Just goes to show you how attached some of you are to players because of the jersey that they wear. This is the same board who lost their (bleep) because we signed MWP over Anthony Brown lol. Clarkson is replaceable, how replaceable is he? We have Josh Hart on the roster already.
