The 4 most efficient isolation scorers in the @NBA this season in terms of points per possession:
James Harden 1.25
Chris Paul 1.24
Lou Williams 1.22
Kyle Kuzma 1.20 |
and some idiots want to call him Brian Cook
This kid is going to be our go to scorer in the next year. Once Walton gets his head outta his ass. |
Yeah, what is the deal with the Cook/Kuz trolling? I mean Brian Cook was amazingly bad, dude could not even jump higher than a piece of paper laying flat. One of my all time least favorite Lakers.
Kuzma is on a different planet. I guess they are trying to make a connection because cook could hit 3 pointers as well. But man Cook never even took a jump shot because he could not jump. |
Just someone yesterday who thought it was a good idea to say they were the same kind of players, when obviously they have not much in common... |
At least Kuzma's shot has an arc |

I am going to miss Nance a lot, but this does open up more PT for Kuz. _________________ R.I.P. Doc Buss |

Man, I definitely like Kuz as the second unit star a lot more than JC. I think without Jc he feels more free to play his game. |

I love Kuz in transition and on the break. Unstoppable. |

I know he shoots and makes threes, but I had no idea the pace he was at because he's had his peaks and valleys. But Kuz, along with Lauri and Donovan Mitchell havee 100+ treys made prior to all star break. First time in history, they have 3 rookies at this pace.

He's been a little inconsistent recently. Imagine when he does finally "arrive." He could be 250+ three point guy a'la Klay Thompson? |

When we optimize him in pickNpop , I see him hitting 3 3s a game no doubt. Don't think we get him enough of those looks. Lonzo improving in the P/R game will also help those looks be cleaner |

Great point. I love Nance and what he brings. But Kuzma seems to play better when he gets more minutes. And Kuz has greater upside. A front court of Lopez and Randle with Frye and Kuzma coming off the bench can do some damage, while giving Kuzma more minutes for development. |

Great rebounding game by Kuz, looks like with Nance gone and IT taking more of an offensive load they want Kuz to give more energy on defense and the boards. |

Hopefully this experience will help Kuz reignite his game. The first two months of this year have been tough.
He hit a rough spot for minute. Since January his true shooting percentage is 48.0 which is the lowest among Lakers regulars. |

Loved nance in the short term definitely a loss, but in the long run I think Kuzma will fill that void very easily...he may never do some of the things nance does but I think his ceiling for what he does well is very high.
He's still a rookie and he'll have his ups and downs to close out the season, but I think he'll make a solid jump next year |

The irony is Kuzma has some of the same deficiencies as Nance. For instance, he is undersized at the pf position which makes him a net negative on nights where he's not scoring well. My hope is that he develops some good defensive instincts to make up for his size. |
