It’s good to repeat it, but the Cavs trade was a genius move by Rob/Magic

I'm not sure how to interpret this thread title.

It's good to repeat it, however it was genius.

Other than that, it makes perfect sense.

now I'm even more confused

I agree with what the op is saying but the title reminds me of the infamous title that was something like “worst players but best team overall”

It hurts to lose Nance but I love the flexibility this gives the team. The Lakers can now:
Sign two max players AND Randle in 2018 by stretching Deng.

Sign a max player and Randle in 2018 and another max player in 2019.

Use the pick to help dump Deng.

Use the pick to sign another excellent player on a low-cost rookie contract.

Take on salary in exchange for additional picks.

Re-sign IT if he seems worthwhile and accepts a reasonable deal.

Lots of great options.

Great trade by the Lakers front office! I was to the point where I probably would of sent out one of our future first round picks in the trade, instead we acquired one!

Lets just hope the Cavs keep losing.

1. Higher draft pick
2. Make it easier for LeBron to leave

The first three quarters were a big let down after watching the Heat victory. Then the backcourt of IT and Ball started improvisational showtime basketball. We finally have a good rhythm section for our offense. This is a unique style but damn entertaining to watch. I kept switching over to catch the end of the Celtics Vs. Rockets and found the gameplay of isolation hero basketball really boring. Looking forward to seeing the Lillard matchup and praying Ingram has a good MRI.

Nah...
if the Cavs pick we get doesnt end up being a better player than Nance (chances are the player will NOT being better than Nance)...
OR
if we dont do something really good with the cap clearance we got...
it was a bad trade.

Nance has the 6th best RPM in the league amongst PF's. And his BPM (+4.1) is higher than Draymond Green's.

The trade was still good, but it's amazing how underrated Nance is.

The Lakers second unit is missing Nance for sure, but two positive things have helped make up for that:

- It's opened up more minutes for Randle and Kuzma. Kuzma has hit the wall but the minutes are still valuable, and Randle has taken his game to another level. I do think with the three headed monster they had at power forward it was hard to keep any of those guys happy so either Randle or Nance was going to need to be moved.
- It's opened up some playing time for Zubac so the Lakers can get a fresh look at him before deciding if they want to pick up the team option on him for next season.

It also probably helps ease the conscience when it looks like Nance is happy to be in Cleveland.
